I hope they continue that Spin Off (Extreme Trucking). The main game maybe won't be continue because currently ATS is just a much more newer version of 18 WOS series albeit a bit less feature. EXTREME Trucking(both spin off) is EXTREMEly unique compare to other SCS trucking game because first you are rather just a very skillful EXTREME trucker being hired to drive on some company truck which means you can't own any truck at all. Secondly It is the only modern SCS trucking game that does not have an open world map. Thirdly, It is also the only SCS game that take place in Asia and also Australia. There are a lot more unique thing about ET that would be too long to list down. ( Anyway I know Scania truck driving sim exist with quite some challenge like Extreme Truck as well but I find It rather a preparation demo game for ETS 2, It was release a few months before ETS 2 was release)
@just2bme10002 жыл бұрын
@@cheeyun9526 Nice point, and maybe some of the features of Extreme Trucking 2 can be applied in ATS, eventually. In reality North Central and South America are all "American" so they really wouldn't need to rebrand or anything, they'd just have to expand to other countries from those continents. Mexico and Peru and Brazil have some really nice terrain if SCS ever wanted to experiment with some extreme off road driving. Not to mention all of Canada and the state of Alaska if they wanted to mess around with winter trucking.
@cheeyun95262 жыл бұрын
@@just2bme1000 Hehe. Would like to see a remake of falling into the ice pool in high quality ATS graphic when driving at Canada. Those challenging roads in South American countries would like to see It as well. A remake of truck falling from Yungas roads will be cool to see It again.( BTW all those remake stuff I mention, they are some of the most memeroble moment of Extreme Trucker.

They have plans for it, they're working on it :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZWWfah-odaDmNE
@Ch1n4m4nn2 жыл бұрын
Why? They don't have so much folks working on the engine and it slowly progresses but an external engine means to pay money. I also get sometimes mad if I see the shitty shadows and almost non dynamic lights... but I can also imagine what the costs would be and on top of it the pain in the ass to convert everything to a new engine. But on the other hand is there as food as no other developer team with so much passion and support. And that is something you can only do if you are independent from others. As a ETS player from the first hour I learned they they need time. Looking back at the development in the last years they made pretty huge steps. But it's the same with Elder Scrolls and Bethesda... folks complain since years and buy it nevertheless... it just works as Todd would say^^

Ngl the current graphics engine feels fine. Heck even just the lighting change alone back in 1.4 something idk even that makes quite a difference alone.

@danceoffAsh2 жыл бұрын
I don't mind the current graphics, but they really need to fix the anti-aliasing in the game. For a driving game, and seeing 90% of the time of the road while gaming, it's pretty painful to see, jagged edges on the fences and lights while they constantly flicker.

I've only discovered ETS2/ATS recently. For some reason I suddenly got addicted to watching footage of people driving around cities/towns/highways and I was like "Man I wish there was a game where I could just drive around a very large map because I cannot do it in real life yet" and suddenly KZbin started recommending me Truck Simulator videos. And I couldn't be more happier having found these games. I wish I discovered them sooner though. SCS seems like a really great company, haven't heard a single bad thing about them yet, and I'm impressed that they managed to support ETS2 for almost 10 years now.

SCS say that making truck game wasn't their wish. They are once a very unsucessful indie game developer that develop any random game they like. Some of the lesser known one like the Deer Hunting series but It didn't seems to work at all, It never blow up even until now. One day they decided they just want to develop a truck sim, their focus on truck sim at that time is just like all the other game they have at that time, they never was interested about making truck game and the only reason they did is to make their game selection more diverse (Not just hunting sim and stuff) After that they developer a new truck sim, with similar engine with their other game. They never knew that since them they will blow up to become a most popular simulation devs ever. Since they release Hard Truck 2, SCS immediately blows up in popularity. Because that one single truck game is their only sucess, they decided to start focusing on more truck sim as they realise making more truck sims will continue their sucess and they really became really sucessful. Eventually developing truck game really becomes a hobby for them and that is what happend today. After seeing this, SCS defitnetly have some of the most interesting sucess story of any sim devs ever.
@cheeyun95262 жыл бұрын
Also the only non truck simulation by SCS that is actually sucessful is Bus Driver. Other game are shooter game which seems to have a very outdated and in general very bad game mechanic. I am glad they choose the truck simulation path instead of continuing those games.

That's when i downloaded Haulin' and OOOH BOI it was insane. After a year or so, (after trying a couple of SCS games) i gave it a chance to German Truck Simulator. I was impressed by how far physics were evolving compared to Euro Truck Simulator 1. In fact, i think the physics were VERY similar to what we saw on early ETS2. I think that's why i loved German Truck Simulator so much. Before of that i couldn't handle trucks properly, 18 WoS saga (except to Extreme Trucker 2) tends to feels "soapy". I'm amazed for the persistance of those guys, keeping updated ETS2 after all these years.

My birthday is November 3, 1997. I am only 5 days older than SCS company. I played most of the games as simulations. 18 Wheel Of Steel series (Haulin, Across America, Hard Truck, Pedal of Metal and ETS 1) Wow I felt old. 😂😂 However I played Dukem Nukem Manhattan Project 😁

I knew they made hunting games but that many of them? Also Duke Nukem Manhattan Project was alright.

Unfortunately I made an oopsie in research. It was actually made by others using SCS Technology so it belongs in the previous category. Sorry xD

Fun Fact: UK ETS2 map hasn't been updated for over 10 years.
