That cutscene of Shulk grabbing the monado on the bridge is so great. Not only is it the moment Shulk obtains the Iconic weapon that defines Xenoblade, it's also amazing at setting up the next scene. Before this point, Dunban was seemingly indestructible through both cutscenes and gameplay (being level 20 while your party is usually around level 10) and destroying any mechon in his way, until he finally can't take anymore of the monado, even wanting to press on after coughing up blood. After all this Shulk shows his will to protect his home by attempting to fight using the monado while knowing the dangers that come with it, (Shulk's eventual use of the monado was also foreshadowed a lot before this scene). After grabbing the monado you get a massive boost in power both gameplay and story wise, giving the player a false sense of security that everything will turn out okay now that we have this power on our side, only for it to all come crashing down in the next cutscene. This cutscene is satisfying, rewarding and all the more heartbreaking on repeat playthroughs. This game is truly phenomenal, if you don't own XC:DE, please at least consider trying it, this cutscene is only the tip of the iceberg for all the other incredible things to come on this adventure.

Idk, the GRAPHICS are better, but I think the aesthetic is slightly ruined. I prefer the OG, personally. They all look too baby-faced in the definitive. Except maybe sharla. Reyn looks WAY to prettyboy-ish in definitive. . . . I was incredibly disappointed.
