Sewing with any kind of stretchy material is almost impossible for beginners, so I’m convinced that sewing must have been included with the spidey powers.

When I found out that that was an animatronic, my jaw dropped! Because I thought it was insane that Disney would even produce a show where an employee did something that crazy. The fact it’s an animatronic?! I couldn’t believe it! It looks so realistic!!

Ikr, I was new to Spiderman movies, I was never really interested when I was a kid in the 2000s but my BF convinced me to watch Spider-Man: Homecoming with him and I loved it along with Far From Home (which we saw in theaters) and I wanted to see more and the thought that I might not get to upset me greatly, now I've seen all the Spider-Man movies and I think Tom Holland is by far the best in the role, who's you're favorite Spider-Man?

When I went to Disneyland Paris this year, I was busy looking at a menu outside a restaurant, and someone walks past me, pats my shoulder, and says "Hey, man! Don't forget a water with that." I turned around and, yes, it was Spider-Man. I just stood there with a dumb look on my face. He waved, did a backflip right in front of me, then walked away. A few other passers-by saw the whole thing and cheered. And I spent the rest of the day dumbfounded that Spider-Man did that with me. It wasn't planned, it wasn't a designated meet-and-greet area... It genuinely gave me an extra bit of Disney magic that day.

When on my 6th grade DC/New York trip, we were treated to a Broadway musical one night and we saw Spider Man Turn off the Dark and let me just say, I went into it with ZERO expectations. But once I saw it and heard the music, OMG I fell in love. Reeve Carney and Patrick Page were so amazing as Spidey and Green Goblin, the stunts were intense, costumes and set were vibrant, and him soaring over the audience took my breath away. And now I'm excited to possibly see the both of them again on Broadway in Hadestown next month. (Ironic both were cast to go head to head as Protagonist and antagonist again.😊😜)

"The hockey mask" that he mentions is actually called a faceshell it is a very popular item for spider-man cosplayers i even made one myself from a spider-man homecoming sight mask (a toy for kids that makes the eyes move) the only difference with that one is that it has a top layer that someone can put on thier head like a helmet but cosplayer faceshells just cover the face so you can get that spidey look face and jaw wise.

Hello Dan, I'm a very big fan of yours and a huge fan of Spider-man too! I definitely enjoyed this deep-dive but I do have some nit-picks; 1-At Universal Studios it's very clear to me they were actually piggybacking off of the X-men's success at the time and calling the characters there "Avengers" is mostly incorrect. The true majority of Universal's marvel cast are X-men. Also actually going by comic Book history Spider-man was not an Avenger yet either. I know almost everyone sees him as a team member now, (incidentally to be fair, I don't know how many comics you've red) but going off the actual comic track record, despite Spidey joining the other big heroes for their adventures when there were big high stakes, he was not actually inducted into the official Avengers roster. So by my personal standards I'd say Universal's cast at first qualifies more as mostly the X-men and a couple guest stars. I'm a very active comic reader myself. I can even tell the whole story of how Spider-man, Wolverine, Luke Cage, and Spiderwoman were all brought in as new members for the Avengers during 2006's special event New Avengers; Breakout. However again I respect that you were just trying to introduce the heroes as simply as possible to start the video. As I already said I'm an active comic reader and if you ever need help with a future deep dive of another Marvel character and some of their history in and out of public spotlight and as a general character, I'd be happy to add in my personal info. 2-I'm surprised you didn't get into any discussion on the Third movie's dance routine. I've gotten quite used to so many people on the internet talking about how they either like or dislike it. However given some controversial opinions maybe you were actually being kinda smart there. I don't know I'm a little back and forth on that one. 3-finally Spidey does actually have some history of using bikes and motor vehicles as a toy and in the comics. In case you didn't know- In the nineties it was actually quite common that a lot of the popular toy characters, Marvel heroes included got motor cycle sets. In fact some of the Spidey motor cycles I saw as toys even looked like the cycle he was using at Universal. Also he did also have a Spidermobile for a while originally designed by his good friend Johnny Storm (Human Torch) of the Fantastic Four. I hope you can in fact respect that I'm really just trying to enhance your knowledge of Spidey's history and not just show off my incredible comic knowledge. Also again I really do enjoy all your content and how much joy you create with each of your videos. I'll watch every single costume history you put out there! You are truly fantastic at talking about costumed characters and every single time I watch one of your videos, I often feel like I'm going right back to the parks. You do such a wonderful job on every single video! I see so far only Captain America and Spidey have been discussed on here. I suppose maybe only Wolverine and Iron man by my knowledge might be the most common to actually also appear in theme parks. However I'll be back for any more Marvel characters or any other characters. I really do enjoy all your videos. Also again if you think some comic book info could enchance a future costume video send me a shoutout and I'll be happy to help cause I really do love how much passion you put into alll your videos and how you open yourself up in a different way each time as you explore so many different characters. Again please remember the main goal was to help not to brag. Please send any help requests to this email- Gimothyranger@netscape.net. Once again I really am a huge fan and thank you if you red this really long comment.

Personally, I LOVED the 90s live-appearance Spider-Man suit from Universal. It's based on my favorite artist's work: John Romita Sr. One suit I saw that you had in the background but didn't touch on was a mall appearance suit. In 2007, Wal-Mart held an event for the launch of Hasbro's Spider-Man toy lines for the comics and for SM3 (Hasbro had just gotten the license) and they made a big deal of it offering an exclusive figure of Black Suit Spidey and a meet and greet with Spider-Man. The suit they used was of similar (but better) quality of the Universal suit, except this time it was based on Mark Bagley's artwork for the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. The eyes were higher quality than Universal's and the black frame around the eyes, the webs, and the spider symbols were all made from a nice looking material separate from the lycra of the suit itself. YEARS later (like in 2011 or 2012) Disguise Costumes released a retail version of the same suit....but unfortunately in lower quality...which was a shame since the suit was literally called "Rental Quality" and the model pic was of the same version used for live appearances years prior. Personally I feel the old suits were fine, that's how the costumes from the comic brought to life would look. I will say the current suits at Disney obviously look better. and the way they handle live-appearances is also better......but the ride at Universal is still far superior.

first of all, love the video and so happy to see turn off the dark get a mention, it’s one of my favourite musicals ! secondly a fact you missed (or may have just chose to not mention) about turn off the dark’s costumes (which has my all time favourite spidey suit btw) is that it was designed (alongside the rest of the show’s costumes) by academy award winning designer eiko ishioka whose best known for her work on francis ford coppola’s dracula ! also originally in the comics in amazing fantasy #15 and in a large amount of comics, the spidey suit is actually multiple clothing items, there are tons of panels of peter lifting up his shirt or taking off the sock parts but obviously because of the way it was drawn (which would have been much easier to draw as one piece), it looks like a singular suit which i guess translated into the one piece we know today but that kind of explains why peter was able to create and sew the costume with a lot more ease (plus we don’t actually know what material he used). i also personally think that peter’s sewing skills come from his aunt may as they’re a poor working class family who likely would alter/repair clothes before buying new ones as that was also a lot more common for someone like aunt may and uncle ben in their youth as well (considering they were already old in the 60s) 🥰

Funny thing about the early 2000's suits is that they're made from the same pattern as the Eeves Brooks Spider-man AKA 1977 Nicholas Hammond Spider-man pattern. I've bought plenty of suits in the past and with minor adjustments can be turned into a cool looking suit.
