Best aerial overview i have seen yet. Would like to see the evolution of last 7-day main outflow channel change, with a wide angle. Too see how where most of the lava is transported too, west versus east. everything on the west will go south, on the east it will also go north to that valley.

Oh that was great! I was hoping someone would do a comparison video. Too bad someone didn’t get high enough to see the whole thing at once then and now but that might have to be pretty high now. Oh! And thank you for showing us the inside of one of the old cones. I’d been wanting to see what it looked like. I wonder how deep it is. Maybe if you look in the last cone everyone called flo that’s right above Meradalur it might show more because it’s got a lot larger opening. Anyways thank you for making this for us. It was really well done.

Thank you for an amazing editing job! (and for taken the source material in the first place of course!) You are so lucky to be able to be there on that island somewhere in the atlantic ocean. If I may suggest something for "Evolution of volcano in Iceland Geldingadalir Pt. …" in the future? Those of us that are watching the whole "show" since end of march already, can put most of the cuts that change the angle of the view and what can be seen then in some relation. What I would suggest is to put in a corner of the screen a little overview picture of the whole area (the 3d moddels that where created at different times might be suitable for that) that stays stationary according to the N-E-S-W concept and then put a tiny dot on that where and an viewing angle towards the direction the shots were taken. Would help to orientate in space where "we" are when we look your beautiful (moving) pictures! For example your cut out scene; That hole was/is where? Is this one of the mysterious places where the lava seems to go down that can be seen on the streamcams from mbl or RÚV? If so, which one was that. That looked amazing

My ignorance, but curious when in HAWAII 20 years back we walked thru a lava tube...exciting....not so much, but NOW I see this eruption am I understanding that when there's a huge amount of flow that it needs to channel its self somewhere when a previous flow has hardened. That makes sense but how do the lava tubes become tubes, without solidified molten magma within. Curious and obviously not too bright....LOVE ALL FOOTAGE, lived in FLATERYRI in the late 80s, only wished I had the chance to see this amazing once-in-a-lifetime chance back then!!!!
@raytracer90133 жыл бұрын
when the flow of lava stop, the lava still in the tube continue to flow downhill ;)
@KimmyLambert3 жыл бұрын
Tubes form by the crusting over of lava channels and pahoehoe flows. So when the tubes form, lava cools around them and solidifies. When the lava stops flowing and empties out and we are left with a treasure to explore for eternity!
@tsmspace3 жыл бұрын
inside of a tube the lava can't cool quickly enough to stay in place, so if it is on it's way down, it will just continue until it cools enough to stop. They usually aren't open to the air until the ceiling of the tube collapses, because you are right, they are full of magma in some places.

@@quietone748 I did. Music very powerfully evokes emotions and I would rather feel what I feel about the eruptions without that external input, thats all. Redo this video in a day by day process. Especially point out the overflows of the eastern wall and the western wall. And, what's happening to the valley to the north. Is there anything that the drone has spotted that is not seen on the ground? Something to anticipate?
