Hey Jeremy's, it's the other Jeremy. Great job out there! Shawn was struggling with his evo bouncing all over the place too and continued to struggle with it at Buttonwillow this weekend. Anyway, it's fun to see the comparison and geek out on "data." My lap was pretty good except for the finish, I hit that bump in the transition to the finish line and it about shot me to the moon. I nearly went off course but luckily was able to tuck it back in. It definitely cost me a couple tenths there over my typical runs in that section. Anyway, thanks again for doing this, it is very fun to see!

Hello, Jeremy number 1. This is Jeremy number 3. Your Corvette was set up very well and you drove it super aggressively with the utmost of skill. It was fun to watch and a great learning experience to analyze. Clearly we have our work cut out for us to get the car up to par. I hope we get a chance to race again next year and we both hope to give you a real run for your money next time ;-) Take care.

There are lengthy discussions on EvoM about this bucking. Marshall Grice is the SME on this, and Dallas Cutler has great knowledge and has very good suspension pieces.

Thanks for the heads up. I might need to swing over to EvolutionM and check out the discussion. I just spoke with Dallas earlier today. He was very knowledgeable and helpful.

@@EvolutionAutocrosser Dallas probably has more experience with this than anyone else. The Tilton guys over in Australia sorted this out a while ago too. They talked about it on a youtube video after they rebuilt the car after the big crash they had a few years ago. The cross axle wheel hop that these cars exhibit has many factors to it, suspension setup is the biggest contributor but diffs and tires also play a part in it. Shock valving makes worlds of difference to resolving it.

I've been running 50% stiff in front and 10% stiff in the rear on my STI with coilovers and it's worked well for me.

So smooth acceleration in rwd key
@EvolutionAutocrosser4 жыл бұрын
There is a saying in Autocross that smooth is fast. Bad things can happen with you load up either end of the car too fast and upset the balance.

What happens to your scrub radius if you push out the tires that far out? also, since the ACR tires are 6/32 they aren't SCCA legal for most classes, do ya'll have another set to use?
@EvolutionAutocrosser4 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah - the ACR tires are absolutely not allowed in scca or most clubs. Perhaps optima forgot to ban them? We shall see if the rules are updated next year. We ran Yokohamas at this event. As for having tires sticking out too far - it probably would have some funky side effects such as the ability to clear the fenders when turning due to their travel path. It’s just an idea that may not work but we will give it a try and make a video about it - even if just for laughs! Thanks for watching by the way!

At least I got a night home alone! Better luck next time, guys 🙏🏻

The problems with your suspension are not only affecting getting power down, but how you can turn into corners. The bouncing around screams shocks/struts. That's gotta get back under control. Good luck!
@EvolutionAutocrosser4 жыл бұрын
That's absolutely true. If we can make the Evo corner like that Corvette, I think we can hang with it. Those power slide rotations through the turns were mighty impressive.

You guys were 0.5 seconds off of Tom Berry, that’s very good.

I didn’t realize! That is good. He was very fast in that white Evo.

What spring rates are you guys running on the evo?
@EvolutionAutocrosser4 жыл бұрын
Approximately 800 lbs/ft front and back. Give or take a little bit. After I get the shocks rebuilt I'm thinking about maybe going stiffer in the front but I'm not sure yet. More to follow with future development. I'll share the details as I go.
@siluck24 жыл бұрын
Go stiffer in rear :)
@LVIIIR4 жыл бұрын
@@siluck2 Agreed. I'm running 800lb front / 1000lb rear. It will definitely help with rotation. The problem is that lot looks rough as hell in spots.
@EvolutionAutocrosser3 жыл бұрын
@@siluck2 I will certainly experiment with that in the spring. No pun intended. Lol
@EvolutionAutocrosser3 жыл бұрын
@@LVIIIR the lot was horribly bumpy. I’ll try some different setups and see what happens.

You and me both! I've always been a fan of driving karts and cars but never got to do anything competitively until later in life. I guess it went the way it was meant to go. We had fun trying to win the $25K! Maybe next time.
