I'm wondering what are your car's alignment values? Great informational video's you do!

Buy adjustable coil overs and set them per each course it's would it spend the money don't go cheap. It's the best advice I can give a autocross/road racer that's looking for more speed and lower times.

While I agree with the techniques in this video about steering hand position and repositioning...it isn't ideal to set yourself up to NEED to reposition your hands. Ideally what you want is this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5eyh2t-pLNpn5osi=-9F-114imyZ7fbpi If you CANT obtain the position and steering angles in this ^ video and NEED to shuffle your hands...the information and technique in this video here by Dick Turner is applicable. Thanks for sharing.

Im just curious at what point in autocross do you give the win to the car rather than the driver?

Do you get in trouble for spinning out on a turn in autox? I just got in it and the car I bought can not be registered so I have little seat time in it. 5 runs to be exact. I feel like I never really knew a car until I got it sliding a few times

Fairly new to autox, on my 2nd year of a full season (about 20 total events). After starting at the bottom of N and then placing 1st in N multiple times I made the move into CAMC with some fast guys. Ive noticed the more ride alongs I have with faster people and letting others ride along with me I tend to do better at those events. Ive been considering letting one of our regions directors (much faster than me) codrive my car an event. Thought about it and its a win win situation. If he puts up a much better time than me, than It just shows me where I can improve. If I match or put up a better time than itll be a light ego boost that im not leaving too much time on the table. Id prefer the 1st outcome just so that I have more to work on. But also Id like to know if he thinks my setup can improve with some minor tweaks to the suspension, alignment, sway bars etc.. so i messaged him and we're set to codrive in 2 weeks! Im both excited and nervous but itll be a great learning experience regardless

Disappointed you didn't do a split analysis for both runs...

Overall time would be dependent on the layout after this section correct? A high speed turn or longer straight it would be beneficial to exit with more speed even if you give up a few tenths in this section. Where as a sharp turn after would be best to use the suggested method in this video

Shouldn't this calculation have been 5.8 instead of 5.5 for the width? Or is the calculation subtracting something from the cars real width?

Thanks for the videos, I'm going on my 3rd autocross event and the problem I'm having is not been able to read the cones fast enough, I know I'm just starting and maybe age and bills got something to do with that, I be looking at videos but when I get to autocross I'm all confused about reading the cones, any suggestions . I have a 2018 camaro 1LE, so I know the car can hang with most of this guys, I just get lost out there! I let some of the intructors drive my car and they get some killer times,thanks guys
@oateater50446 ай бұрын
I think this is one of those experience things. It gets better with seat time. In the meantime, do as many course walks as you're allowed. I'd even suggest coursewalking after the event to compare what you saw at high speed with what you see when walking. Also, the first runs of the day need to not be DNF if at all possible. This means driving SLOW to startthen adding speed on each subsequent run as your confidence in the path increases. When new, I've also had instructors ride with me and just point the whole time to ensure I'm finding the path.
