Evolve Carbon GT Update - The Battery Died

Went to use the skateboard today for the first time in a while, charged it up last night and once again battery maintenance issue. I won't be spending another £360 with Evolve to get this fixed. This has occurred after only 15 charge cycles. Seems if you are not a regular users this is not for you. :(

That sucks, are they lipo cells in there?

yup, did consider DIY but then decided not in the interest of time.

Spectrum Geeks yeah no I was just surprised they were using lipos, they aren’t reliable, they almost always go bad if left unused. They are great for balls out power but not for longevity. Glad you got it sorted though.👍

That's concerning, I've heard a lot of negative comments around Evolve's battery. I own the GT, GTX and owned the One - the GTX had the battery swapped out less than a year in. Now they are out of warranty it's a bit concerning - puts me off the GTR. Given the price of the boards I would like Evolve to cover say 5 years of battery health.

Ditto, wasny happy with the situation but didnt want the board to be useless. GTR is new battery tech so hopefully better, but not sure i want to buy another now.

@@SpectrumGeeks In my experience the Evolve UK team have been nothing but excellent but corporate really need to step up and give their customers confidence to buy their product. As it stands I wouldn't recommend an Evolve board, reddit is absolutely seething over the brand. Still all this could be washed away with a retrospective guarantee to cover these kinds of issues.

Yup, i was basically told my battery failed as i dont use it enough :) So they also could do with some better battery management options.
