It did well on release they just made a bunch of bad decisions and stopped supporting the game

It did do pretty well financially. It sold 2.5 million copies by May of 2015. It just had so many incredibly expensive micro transactions on release and a terrible progression system. Very little varied content on the launch of the game made the gameplay loop stale as well. It was a combination of everything that led to the massive drop in player base quickly. And later they tried relaunching as F2P in order to claw back a player base. That of course didn’t last very long because nobody wants to buy those overpriced micro transactions to begin with and Take Two deemed the game unprofitable. I think the whole asym genre has mostly learned what NOT to do from Evolve and that has been for the better. Sometimes it takes massive scale failures for the industry to learn and grow

I had such a blast with this game. I'll never forget the one round I had as the monster: I wasn't evolved enough to stand toe to toe with the hunters and they were coming my way, so I hid between two boulders with my back to them and they kept running by me until eventually they ran off, no idea I was there.

I love moments like that haha. I’ve hid in bushes so many times and they usually run right by me but sometimes a crow player will find me using Gobi so it’s hard. Even daisy will sometimes bark at me giving away my location

Did the same witht the meteor Golias, used the rush off a cliff to a lower area, then used the jump to get back up and hid in the bushes, it was pretty epic seeing the after play map of the hunters running around and looking for me

Such a fantastic concept for the asymmetrical PvP (1v4) experience. Unlike in DBD where the survivors pose no threat to the killer, only the fact that they can escape. This game lets both sides have their power fantasy, both sides pose equal threat, the only caveat is that one side left unchecked can easily overpower the other!

Man I know the pain. My grandfather passed away two years ago and it still hurts so much. I graduated from my dream university in 2023 and he didn’t even get to see me graduate and I know he was so excited to see me up there grabbing my diploma. He would tell me every day how proud he was of me. I even remember showing him how to play some of my games that I had on Xbox including Evolve and he would never understand how to play but he would pretend like he did and we always joked about it lol. For everyone that still has their grandparents, I really hope they take advantage and spend as much time as they can with them. My grandmother is still around and I’m trying to spend as much time as I can with her

That sucks. I had the same issue but somehow I was able to go through the Xbox settings and open the “games and apps” section and look under dlc to find my characters and skins. They were there but uninstalled. I was able to install them all back but after a few months, they disappeared again

even by todays standards this game is fucking crazy. (i guess todays standards arent very high considering every game has a battle pass and shop) but the visuals and the gameplay are wild and creative. i remember when this game came out when i was a teenager and my best friend was excited af for it. my friend bought it but i never got to play and i dont think he did either. such a shame. if this game got rebooted, id play the nuts out of it.

I felt the same exact way. Makes the trapper role feel pointless but people back then complained so much about how long it took to find the monster so they made the maps smaller and gave everyone the ability to drop the dome. Such a bad decision but I can see why they did it. They were trying to keep playerbase from leaving

Kinguin has it on sale but for $53 atm which is crazy expensive but eBay has legacy keys for real cheap but you gotta be careful with eBay and not get scammed. If going for eBay, I recommend asking the seller first if the steam code inside still works
