hellz ya. love it.. Idk what it is, but a thin stiff deck and traditional street wheels together is such a vibeee

Got a set in the mail today and am hoping to put big miles down before the winter chill swats us all indoors. I found my dad bods have gotten more reliable with time and once they are "warmed up", so i do have high expectations for these double flavor rides. Nice intro you put togather for us here !

Put in some miles and let me know what you think! you've been DUMPING miles on your board how many miles do you have now?
@scienz02203 ай бұрын
@DrewElia my remote says 505 miles with 33 ride hours, but I think the firmware update wiped a few rides off the top. I had a warranty replaced battery due to LED malfunction, so I am juiced back up to full power now, in time for the super grip wheels.

@DrewElia after about 30 miles tonight, I'm very impressed with the performance compared to my 105mm 80a wheels. You get much more confident sustained high speed turns, tighter accessible turn radius, full stability at max speed with hard bushings, and they recover very fast from any gravel or road notches or whatever; really feels like they are grabbing the road compared to the more razors edge ice skatey feel at speed on the 105s, during high speed turns. The downsides at first glance feel are that they chunk a little more battery and thus have less range, and i also lost a little top speed perhaps, although this could be biased by the confidence afforded at high speed and remote setting inaccuracy. They don't feel like the hard urethane i have used over the years at all, and I could barely get them to slide with considerable effort. I'm happy with the wheels and really just want more power available now to open them up

*Smooooove edit!!* 🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️👌🏽 Love the music choice 🎵 I dunno what to make of these, hard to tell from reviews, I watched esk8unity's video and from what I saw/heard it didn't seem like it would bring me somethin that I personally want/need from my ride, between my Mad 105s and Ingen 100mm... you're makin me re-think that 😂 I'm not into slidin, and that comes up a fair bit when people talk about these. I Love urethane like Orangatang and Boa but not into slidin. Wheels and bushings gotta be experienced, hard for me to judge, I defo wanna try these out for a few hours but don't have a set to borrow 😭 I'd defo prefer solid colours over clear... and agree, Dad Bod price point max would be fair. I feel like that's Thomas's shadow ridin/hauntin 😂 next to you

it is Thomas riding with me haha. these wheels are smooth, very very smooth. the Mad 105 grip is insane and the holes give way to a little more of a cushion feeling. these wheels feel like you can break them free pretty easily like a Cag. if I sit down into it they will push out with out a problem. I want to keep riding it and see how far I can push them, but the different road types ive ridden on it feels like it wants to be on smooth roads the most. though John has been riding them in NYC and loving them so that the true test if they can survive there they can survive anywhere haha.

I’m curious to see how the new Radium sr125 rubber airless wheels are going to be comfort wise compared to other rubber airless. They are the lowest durometer of them all at 65a. So super soft lots of holes, low ride height and FLAT and WIDE contact patch. I think they could end up being the perfect rubber street option. They are claiming to have pneumatic levels of comfort. I have a feeling the bigger bearings will allow the wheel to roll better and last longer. The radium core pulleys come with!
@DrewElia2 ай бұрын
That’s going to be really interesting, I’m definitely keeping an eye out for how those wheels perform! i loved the feel of them on the radium mach 1 and looking forward to the mad 125 as well!

its good to try out new wheels, the mad are still my top go to for thane wheels, but these provide a different feel overall as well! but you have an amazing set of wheels on your board anyways

Yeah definitely true, I also run the 115mm rubber amped/onsra wheels which I love minus the range.

@robras2850 yes I have those on a few boards as well range does get sucked out of those but great fun!

How do these compare to 74a 90mm wheels?
@DrewElia2 ай бұрын
Like the Meepo style thane wheels? these are better grip due to the bigger size and the edge in my opinion. these also have more of a firmer feel to them allowing you to break grip if you wanted to in harder carves for slides.
@esk8jaimes3 ай бұрын
About these new 55/76a 97mm wheels from #EvolveBoards they use a none-standard ABEC core; this wouldn't be the Cloudwheel Discovery ABEC core, would it? (If so, this would be the softest small wheel size to date, ideal for my Revel Drive system vs 90mm 74a wheels!)
@DrewElia3 ай бұрын
It doesn’t use cloudwheel tech at all, it’s a dual formula poured urethane
@esk8jaimes2 ай бұрын
@@DrewElia watched one review where the pulley adapters are a loose fit? Figure they used the older ABEC core with that in mind...

I really don't understand their pricing strategy... even if they add "super" in the name of the wheels, the urethane formula is still the same and I guess its still not the best formula in the market (Orangatang and Boa formula are better)...
@DrewElia3 ай бұрын
yeah, the pricing is high, $130 - 150 would be justified in my opinion
