@@EvolveDentalHealing Hello Doctor, I have a question if you don't mind pls 🙏 I take 1-3 g ascorbic acid every day, I basically put the powder in water and drink it with a straw so that it doesn't contact my teeth a lot cause I've heard it might damage them? And that I shouldn't brush my teeth right after? So I brush them before, right after I wake up, is that ok? Pls advice regarding what's the best way to take ascorbic acid so it doesn't do any damage 🙏 Thank you!!

@@theodora_pilates There are different forms of Vitamin C, I take Vitamin C crystals in the form of calcium ascorbate. It’s mild on the teeth and gentle on the stomach. I place it on my tongue and quickly swallow it with a beverage avoiding contact with my teeth.

All of this sounds so thorough, but I wish dentists would look into the connection between sinuses and the teeth/gums. I’ve had receding gums for most of my life. Gum grafts in my 20’s. I went to the dentist multiple times for what I thought was a cracked tooth, but nobody could find anything wrong. Recently went to a holistic dentist, she noticed my sinuses were full. Referred me to an ENT, who told me the tooth pain was because the root went right into an infected sinus! I know there’s more to this than what we think.
@EvolveDentalHealing

yep I always check for sinus issues as can so strongly mimic toothache. One tell tale sign is if the pain is made worse by tipping your head forward or going up and down stairs for example.

Hi doc, how do we get tested for our vitamins and electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium)? What other test for vitamins or other nutrients should I do for tooth decay? I'm planning on taking supplements but I don't know my levels and don't want to accidentally calcify my arteries. Currently in a high carb diet. I think I'll also do keto + IF after my 4 wisdom teeth is extracted then a dental cleaning to save my teeth from further decay and swelling gum. Tried jumping into keto without much research and yeah it worsened the decay rate due to stress and hunger and deficiencies, so I jumped back into high carbs diet for now to get enough energy for the extractions, and make sure to eat carrot at the end of the meal and chew xylitol.
@EvolveDentalHealing

I'd recommend a function or integrative Doctor or a good naturopathic doctor to run those tests and give you the support you need. It sounds like you didn't get fat adapted with your approach to keto and possibly may have some insulin resistance.

@Phone-p9y Zero carb keto has everything except some B’s and D3/K2 and C. Also B-6 is necessary to help pull energy from fat. If you try a Methylated B complex, you may find a much better response. It can take 2-3 weeks to adapt from glucose-based to ketone-based (fat adapted). If you feel bad then make sure you get enough electrolytes (salt, potassium, magnesium - calcium isn’t a factor for feeling bad as you have so much stored in bones). The methylated B complex look for methylated B-12 and B-9. If you don’t see the “methyl” in those two, than it’s not the right one. Also look for B-6 that is P-5-P. K2 controls where calcium goes. D3 is low for most people. Magnesium is also low. Fish oil, Vit D3/K2, magnesium are good for pretty much everyone because of our soils being depleted and not getting enough sunshine. I take those and methylated B complex. I don’t seem need Vitamin C unless I eat carbs.

if you have inflamed gums they will be swollen and enlarged making them look bigger and longer. When the root scaling is done to remove bacterial build up the gums heal, swelling goes down and thus the gums look smaller which then reveals the extent of the bone loss previously masked by the puffed-up gums.

@niemand000
@niemand000 Ай бұрын
In case you don't know, the type of omega-3 from flaxseeds (or from any plants) is ALA, which is useless to the human body. The body needs DHA and EPA. Even if the body can convert ALA into either DHA or EPA, the conversion success rate averages about 4%. So at best the body can convert about 8%, and that's been found to happen only in pregnant women. 8% of your 1300 mg is 104 mg. If fish oil upsets your stomach, try algae oil.

But from my experience and research I’ve not seen much difference in gum health only from adding vit C in these forms. The patients probably made other changes as well. Is it true that with vitamin C too high a daily intake can increase inflammation & negative effects just as much as too low an intake? With some things more of is not always better.
@EvolveDentalHealing
@EvolveDentalHealing 2 ай бұрын
Yes, it's true. While vitamin C is essential for various bodily functions and generally considered safe, excessive intake can lead to negative effects, including increased inflammation. Here's why: Overload: When you consume too much vitamin C, your body can't process it all efficiently. Excess amounts may be converted into other compounds that can contribute to inflammation. Digestive issues: High doses of vitamin C can often cause digestive problems like diarrhea, nausea, and stomach upset. These issues can contribute to overall inflammation. Oxidation: While vitamin C is an antioxidant, it can also act as a pro-oxidant in high concentrations. This means it can produce harmful free radicals that contribute to inflammation. And this is why I recommend 3g in total per day spread out in smaller doses. However, short-term high doses are beneficial when we want to support the reduction of infection, inflammation, and detox.
