Last guy kind of irritated me. It was like he was making a point that he was doing you a favor by offering you the comp (trying to get down $50 from an offer you keep turning down) and was annoyed he couldn't get his price. I enjoy these behind the scene dealer videos and you do great work articulating the process.

He certainly seemed annoyed that I wouldn't come down based on his body language after we agreed to a deal on the small stack.

I really hope Fanatics is able to procure NFL game used jerseys, etc. and implements holograms just like the MLB stuff where it can be looked up and matched to specific games. That would go a LONG way in creating value in the NFL market.
@TripleCrown244 ай бұрын
I would hope so as well. Baseball is a little easier due to the sheer volume of games played. In the NFL, you're only getting 17 plus maybe some preseason/postseason action. Lots of those guys like to do the jersey swap thing or keep them for themselves. Not as much material to go around into the dozens of sets put out every year.

u mentioned some dealers have same cards in there cases from a few years ago.. I see that all the time at the 2 big shows I go to the chantilly and philly show.. same dealer, same location, same cards… I dont understand that.. if they cant sell them at a show why dont they move them on electronic platforms.. auction them, etc… why hold on to them show after show… ???? I usually just walk by with a glance knowing I’ve seen all these cards before and not what I want or ones I want are WAY over priced to even start a negotiation...
@TripleCrown244 ай бұрын
The short answer: I don't know. Granted, some of these dealers don't rely on cards as a source of income, let alone their primary revenue stream. Therefore, the urgency to sell cards at shows is much lower than say someone like me. At the same time, the shows you mentioned are not cheap to set up at and will consume an entire weekend of one's time. There is a show around me that happens twice a year with the same problem. For that show, I think the dealers just want to "hang out" with the other guys they only see at this show. It doesn't really make sense no matter how you look at it.

@@TripleCrown24 I think we are on the same page with these dealers that have the same cards out for every show… maybe it is just a thing to do in retirement as a hobby and enjoy it and not really needing to sell cards.. I think show organizers need to weed them out.. get there team looking thru tables and its easy to notice and simply dont allow them to get a table in future shows.. bring in some fresh dealers.. I almost am getting tired of going to shows seeing the exact same dealers in the exact same spot with many of the same cards that are over priced and I know they can sell easily at auctions…..

"HOW MUCH" room do you have on it." rather than do you have any room. I have asperger's (will always be poor social cue wise) and I still can't believe the way some of these guys phrase their negotiations, ridiculous question.
@TripleCrown244 ай бұрын
I'm not a fan of the room question in general, but I'm guessing that particular question is to determine if I'm really willing to come off sticker.

Great stuff JT...Just curious because the video doesn't give me a great sense of dimension, are you worried about your money holder being placed on the table next to the cases while you're talking with customers? I ask because of all that talk about card show theft a few weeks ago and I'd hate to see something like that happen to you.
@TripleCrown244 ай бұрын
Great question! I take some precautions to protect against theft

Do you prefer to use top loaders or one touches to display raw cards in? I just started my own channel and would love a subscribe from you!
@TripleCrown243 ай бұрын
I go back and forth but usually top loaders since they are equally effective vs magnetics and cost less
