You have to speak the truth. We, people of color, know that justice is not blind, it sees what it wants to see. I am not surprised by the rittenhouse verdict but at the same time, I will not let it define nor take control of my emotions. When you don’t have expectations, you will never be disappointed ✌🏾

I completely agree with you on the Rittenhouse verdict, it’s so sad and frustrating. And then people dismiss you when you bring up the factor of race in the justice system as if it’s irrelevant. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

not hating but just to be clear he was protecting businesses and even the prosecutor brought one of the victims who survived and he admitted he drew his gun at Kyle and then Kyle proceeded to shoot him. And then the other two have previously threatened him, and it’s on video, and the other who got shot and killed we can see in videos he was gonna get hit on the head with a skateboard which could be bad, and had previously gotten hit so I understand where his self defense comes. The issue is why did he go in the first place for me, it wasn’t his business, however the self defense is there. God bless you brother in Christ :D, but let me know what u think.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I understand that. My concern is that I don’t how he expected people to react to someone clearly against the protest walking around with an assault rifle. I don’t think it’s beyond reason that many people perceived him as a significant threat. Especially in light of the mass shootings with ARs that America has experienced. Unnecessarily presenting yourself like that and then using “self-defense” doesn’t sit right with me. And watching how the criminal justice system approached this case, from the night of the incident to the trial, and comparing how it has handle cases involving Black men adds salt to the wound. But again, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and God bless you too! 🙏🏽

@@EvolvingMedic the people that are still alive always say, “I feared for my life”. I am sure the other person was feeling the exact same way. People need to quit acting like a gun is the same thing as a picture on the mantle. Yes, they require someone on the other end to be lethal, but the psychological aspect of seeing a gun plays a major role. I noticed it all the time while I was in the marines. I understand what you are going through JR. Individuals that throw house parties, or rap concerts, are held more accountable than these self defense claims. It’s nobody’s fault that you can’t fight and when someone starts throwing them hands, they fear for their lives. Anyhow. Thanks for listening to my rant now😂. I have some Anki to do myself. Keep up the great work. Your personality motivated me to keep watching. I hope to run across you in the medical world someday.

I couldn’t agree more Amanda! Lol And if you already know what specialty you’re interested in, I would start a few months into your first year. You want to give yourself some time to adjust to medical school, but then getting involved in research can be very helpful. When you apply, you want to have completed projects, and some research can take over a year to complete. So the earlier the better in my opinion!
