Evony- The top 5 ground generals available (Updated)

Just wanted to share something. Buildings reinforce actually still uses all your marching buffs. Same as camps. If you set a camp and someone attacks you on your camp, you will notice in the battle report that all your marching buffs were used. Buildings in Evony are just a decoration. When the game lags or glitches you will actually notice that inside the building there is actually a camp. All buildings (throne, towers, even ones in BoG and BoC use marching attacks). Only time reinforcing buffs are used are during reinforcing alliance keeps. Keeps are a solid entity in Evony and they are used only during that along with other buffs. Hope this helps

Are you sure about ally keep? So reinforce bonus of embassy duty general works then reinforcing keep? And what about attacking keep? March bonus or reinforce bonus works?

Scipio still the Goat. My attack was 1000 but defense was 800 & hp 750, my reports were hit or miss. I upgraded def to 900, hp 900 and attack dropped to 900ish, 1.2B hit the other day. Ground defense & Hp is the game changer NOT attack.

Thank you for this video. You made a VERY good point that “marching” doesn’t apply to defense. I think many players miss that. I currently have Scipio at level 35 and Elise at level 35. No matter how many times I cultivate Elise, I can’t get her as strong as Scipio. Ugh.

Nothing wrong with 2 ground generals as ground is a staple reinforcement.

I have placed Trajan in the "main" sub-city to hang out. It seems to have benefitted me once or twice when I have dropped bubble. As I was able to defend myself and get a few thousand prisoners. Just guessing, but it seems possible because all I had was Shajar al-Durr on the Wall at the time. But, they did not scout me properly and tried a random attack; just went by being a stronger keep level.

are you saying all of his buffs apply while in a sub city as well as your main defense general?

@@knife0party yes, Trajans buffs should work. As long as there are troops in the sub-city & the boxes are checked. The majority though use debuff Generals wth appropriate gear. As I said, I was lucky, if I was scouted prperly it would have been a much different outcome.

@@knife0party For only 1 round possibly. Once the troops are killed in your sub city, no more Trajan benefit I am afraid.

Yes GUAN is worth investing i just got him today as well..but I have ELISE half way done.in order of priority if attack works or doesnt...ground attack, ground speed, ground hp, ground def

Question 🙋‍♂️: I have x3 guyan yu I also have scipo but problem is I can ascend Guyan yu but I have started scipo luckily haven’t put runes on scipo shall I level up Guyan you and ascend him it will give me 60 fragments I’m not sure how high I can ascend him please help

Does the new assistant general not lend itself more to mixed marches? That was my initial impression, that you could combine two generals with contrasting troop march skills for mixed attacks but so far most people seem to be sticking with single troop type combinations. I’d be curious as to how a combination march would stack up.

Thanks for this video, your advice on this subject was great the other day. Quick question regarding the marching. When I reinforce an ally and check the general's status, it refers to them as Marching. If that's the case, then Scipio will retain his passive stats when reinforcing too.

This is one of those wording issues with evony as they translate things into english...i really cant answer that...from trial and error though scipio is not a good reinforcing general...especially if hes wearing ares gear

For 16 months all I had was Trajan. Then in the last 6 weeks I’ve gotten Elise, Alexander, carus, Yu and scipio (!). Trajan is almost max specced, just the last specialty to finish (now purple). I started working on Elisebecause I got her first, but the dragon requirement is a pain. So now I’m going to probably work on scipio. I got yu yesterday. This video is timely for me and I make decisions about these generals. I think yu is going the way of carus, as a source for runestones. I have a question, I thought in the past for skill books you liked hp and defense and speed over attack… has your thinking evolved on that?

Using the Liena.BE calculator, Guan Yu beats Scipio by quite a bit in HP and Attack, Scipio wins in Defense. using same books. Let me know if you get the same. Focusing on them for myself due to the need for the extra dragon

Let me get this straight, Carius is #6, Trajan is #5, Scipio, Else and Yu are top three, and Alexander is... a rally anomaly? Is there a #4? Or is that new Alexander?

Correct, alexander would be 4th or a 1b to the 1a's as he just has a completely different talent so hes not a competitor to them.

Well I think I had every single 1 of those generals though I had so many generals 87/91 that I decided to try and sell a few generals and sold Tragen.

You are ranking them based on there attack? Why not HP or even defense which is there strong stat. The ability to withstand range attack is what makes the Ground troop shine. Therefore Scipo is #1 in my book still.

So, for example use speed/ defense / attack. Or use speed/ hp / attack Or just stick with attack / defense / hp I’ve read some suggestions that ground attack is harder to debuff.
