The fun factor probably diminishes very much in proportion to how many you've done.

Hey wolfy, have you ever come across a hard drive with platters made of glass? I once had a dead drive that I wanted to see what would happen to it if I dropped it on concrete (from a height of 5 stories up), and I was so surprised to find the platters had basically turned into sand, they shattered so thoroughly. I’m guessing it’s for extremely secure data destruction at the end of a drive’s life.

I know the glass ones exist. I can't remember if I had any. Maybe it is more common in the laptop drives? I have a whole stack of those to get rid of too.

The only drive your missing is a hybrid drive. I have one that is slowly dying thinking of taking it apart.

Oh yes. I've never never used or owned on of those drives. I expect it will be very similar to a normal mechanical drive, just have a few more ICs on the board.
