I am of the generation that was there when the prequels were released , grew up with them as well, technically, as i was born in 1990. Despite watching OG trilogy first , that was my introduction to SW and my nr 1 fav SW trilogy , i would be lying and a dishonest hater if I didn't enjoyed quite a lot the prequels as well . Sure they have their flaws ofc but they had some great and memorable moments too, there are certain things that i liked even more in the PT then the OT. Loved how much they expended and build the universe , John Williams best work in SW etc . Ep 3 is probably neck and neck maybe a bit more actually with ep 5 as absolute best SW movies ,for me .

He probably can't think of himself as getting as old as Alec Guinness but he is now less than 12 years younger than Guinness was in the first one. Guinness was still alive when McGregor filmed The Phantom Menace and it would have been nice if there could have been a meeting like there was between Harrison Ford and Alden Ehrenreich.

This is a good interview, but this guy always asks good questions and actually lets them answer. Doesn't cut them off. On a side note, I always thought it was interesting how kids reacted to the prequels. My friends and I were in our 20's when the prequels came out and apart from Ewan's performance, thought the movies were god awful. While our young nephews and cousins loved them. Cut to today, they are all grown, and say they cant sit through even 5 minutes of those movies now. The originals are where its at.😄

I loved your last question, Jake, probably the best question I've seen put to him on the press tour yet. As a hardcore ROTS fan, however, I must say I was terribly disappointed with his answer, deflecting to an unnecessary comparison between old and current technology. He could have cobbled together something more generous, or at least mentioned how it feeds into the character's relationship in this new series. It's a very meaningful scene for many of us.

3 seasons of good tv too wtf? There’s 13 or 14 great seasons already by my count. Yeah admittedly there’s around 3 dud seasons depending on who you talk to about Boba but 13 good seasons is a lot more than 3 lol. Plus I’d consider Return of the Jedi a good film so there’s at least 4 good films though I’d personally argue there’s 6 good films, 2 average ones and then obviously 3 bad ones in the ST.

Honestly I'm done with Ewan's repetitive answer to any prequel question about how much it sucked to play with a green/bluescreen background. The prequels had more practical effects/miniatures/sets than the all the other SW films combined. Did he expect to film that Mustafar scene on a real lava planet, I don't get it?? He was on a real set, with sand underneath his boots, Hayden was in a burned costume, it all looked pretty freaking real. I wish he would say what a great exercise in acting it was to use your imagination and play alone. It's not that different from what voice actors do. Sorry that you didn't get to meet Kaminoans for real, Ewan.
@geetadhumane57932 жыл бұрын
Prequels had more practical effects that all other movies combined? Are you kidding......the whole Original Trilogy was practical, cg didn't exist at that time....and even though I am bored hearing the same answer.....I get it .....He has said that how it took him out of the experience of filming, the only thing he cherished at that time were the lightsaber duels....And to be fair Ewan got the worst of it .....In Ep2 it was the whole Dexter diner scene where everything was CG, whole of kamino was cg, lot of geonosis was cg, In Ep3 all of the Utapau part was cg, finally Mustafar was CG.....he just got the worst deal
@anastasiabell2 жыл бұрын
@@geetadhumane5793"Fun fact: there were more practical models created for each prequel movie than for the entire original trilogy." That's the quote from the official Star Wars twitter account, you can google that tweet. I don't know how that's surprising to you as the scale and scope of the prequels was much larger than the originals. Much of what you see and think "oh, that's CGI" it's a miniature. The elevator at the beginning of Ep 2 where Obi and Ani are talking? Miniature. The entire Kamino interior? Miniature as well as a set. Even the lava for Ep 3 was real. Educate yourself. And btw, ROTJ did use a blue screen for the bike speeder chase ;)
@TheVagabond6272 жыл бұрын
@@anastasiabell Mf, the entire Original trilogy was done with practical effects! How is it possible for a trilogy that is more than half CGI to have more practical and miniature effects than a trilogy made in the 70s and the 80s?
