True. Seeing the latest Disney trilogy, I wished many times that Lucas had gone for some sequels instead of the prequels back then (even if I kind of like them despite their many flaws). It wouldn't have been guaranteed to be good, but Lucas would have known better than Disney by focusing on the main cast and have them all reunited for good (still can't believe that Disney missed having the old cast all together at least for one scene...).

We would have gotten much better older versions of Luke, Han, and Lea in 1997 and the sequel trilogy could have been about them as main characters together on screen again 20 years after the original Star Wars. They were all too old by the time The Force Awakens was made.

It's funny when around that time on that show Dinner for 5, you had together Stan Lee, JJ Abrams, Mark Hamill, Kevin Smith, and Jason Lee.

What they should have done is make both the sequel and the prequel trilogies around the same time: late 90's / early 2000s... And then a second set of sequels right around this time the sequels were made, that way they had the oportunity to go into the direct sequels and change/modify/adapt whatever was required in stead of choping and butchering like they have done with the originals and prequels, also beacause the sequels would have been fresh, closer to the OT and directly because of that truer to the original trilogy and if they did something around this time that would also stay truer to the original movies and fresher... Another thing George Lucas missed the oportunity big time, in my opinion, was to include original actors like Mark Hamill not in their role but as Skywalker family members for example, maybe another cousin or uncle to uncle Owen and Shmi or something like that, that way we get to see more of the resemblance of the Skywalker family, [like they did with Michael J. Fox and Leah thompson on Back To The Future for example.]

Funny impressions by Hamill! I remember seeing the Rereleased Stars Wars films 🎞 in the movie theater on the big Screen with Dolby sound and it was incredible. Probably one of the two best theater going experiences I ever had! The sound was powerful and the picture looked great! I really felt like I was transported into space and into that whole other world. It was amazing! And the audience cheered when Han Solo introduced himself to Obi Wan in the bar Scene. Also, when he killed Greedo as well. They also laughed when the music started for the Cantina scene. They cheered the heros and jeered the villians at the right times like they watched the movie 100 times which they probably did. It was wonderful immersion in that story and world and audience appreciation and participation at the same time! I’ll never forget it! In fact, I wish they would do it again. I never tire of Empire Strikes Back! It’s such a good movie! The other great Cinema experience I had was watching Aliens in the theater! People would gasp and scream at all the scary parts. I’ll never forget how one black lady screamed at this particular horror scene when the Marines found an impregnated survivor woman hanging on the wall and the Baby Alien starts bursting out of her chest and she’s begging them to kill her. That scene was disturbing and hard to watch! And the whole movie was a thrill ride and ended with that incredible final battle between Ripley with her power suit on fighting the Mother Alien to the death. Two women fighting for their broods in a war of biological dominance. It was incredible on a big screen and that movie was a great sequel that stands on its own. Now I have a big flat screen TV and don’t even go to the movies anymore especially since Covid hit. But those are great memories!

The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: REPENT YE, AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL. THE GOSPEL (which means the Good News) is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 KJV He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT. John 20:28-29 KJV And Thomas answered and said unto him, MY LORD AND MY GOD. [29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Are you saved friend? If you died tonight will you go to heaven or hell? Acts 16:30-31 KJV ...what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2XckIl_f5eNmK8

Man I remember when these movies re-released in '97. I must have seen parts of them on TV before this, because in the '97 version Greedo shoots Han first and I distinctly remember Han shooting first the first time I saw Star Wars. But in spite of the edits, my memories of seeing all 3 Star Wars movies in theaters with my dad at age 10-11 are some of my fondest. I was so lucky to get that experience as a kid.
