Whenever someone talks about Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, I always remember listening to a podcast with a guy who worked on the film, and him being asked what Ewan McGregor was like to work with. He told a story of the cast and crew having to climb a steep hill to reach a shooting location, which resulted in Ewan slipping over, seeing a once in a life-time opportunity the guy ran to the top of the hill, turned to face McGregor, and shouted "It's over Ewan, I have the high ground."

Garrett Walsh it's not natural, each person has two voices, their normal voice, the voice since birth, that get's slightly deeper, and the roughness. background voice. People use the latter naturally when confronted in any situation, good or bad, lovely or hate, and the first when showing vulnerability, whether good, showing that the person is your friend, or bad, showing you're intimidated. Mcgregor's latter voice isn't htat deep, his voice is more of a sweet guy. Bond isn't a sweet guy, he's a man. Making him a sweet guy will lose the male fanbase and gain a couple hundred females...which is jack shit. Daniel Craig has the looks and the perfect below-mid range voice, not too deep. Then you do the workout to get the body and you got Bond. Taylor lautner barely pulled being an action star off in his shitty action movie but people viewed him then as a kid actor , since that was his first real movie after twilight. He wouldn't pull it off had he been 35 with a high-pitched voice. Ewan Mcgregor is a great romantic movie guy, possibly drama, just can't see him being an action star. Has the looks, the background, but he's just meant to be a nice dude, with some seirousness, not the lady-magnet bond :/
