What do you need to do to fix already massive lips and total uneven ground on the infield?

Do you want to nail drag an infield that has top dressing? If so should, how often? Should you water the field before nail dragging?

Sorry for the late reply. It depends on what your goal is. If you have played several games on the infield and you have some divots, depressions, high spots, low spots, cleat marks that dragging simply wont get out of course you will need to nail drag it. The tough thing and most common mistake people make when they nail drag is they are way too aggressive, either with the type of nail drag they use or the depth at which they nail drag it. One of our sports fields experts that used to maintain pro ballfields says it's common to nail drag on a regular basis in conjunction with scarifiers on an infield groomer. This is if you always have topdressing material on your infield. Ideally, the infield should have some moisture in it when preparing to nail drag it. A good method is to lightly nail drag it early morning, float it with standard drags to bring it back to a true groomed surface, water it deeply, let the water permeate the clay, and then roll the infield surface. Once rolled you can drag one more time and deeply water again. This may not be doable for you but any combination of this should get you where you need to be.

@@ewingoutdoorsupply actually what I’m referring to is the so called hump build up out past 2nd base into outfield between 1st base around to 3rd base it’s bad from years of people grooming infield going in circles . Definitely a drop into outfield.

@@weirdowolfstudio5409 It sounds like a renovation job might be in order. Do a search for laser grading a baseball field and you should find some information that might help. We don't have any tutorials currently on the subject. Good luck!
