To be “born again” is to be baptized. What you confuse is the on going conversion of the heart we all christians have to persevere till the end with a “one time statement of faith”. Justification is a process which starts with baptism but continues with our “yes” to God the rest of our lives.

You are so ignorant about Catholic Baptism which is the rebirth in Jesus Christ.
@Λουθηρανισμός8 ай бұрын
@@atgred trust your baptism in faith, i.e. in Jesus. Everything is a gift. There is not a process in justification. You are justified in Jesus, by grace, through the gift of faith, in word and sacraments. This is your justification. It is ''extra nos'' and is absolutely God's work.

@BarbTaylor-g2k. The Catholic Church teaches that we should have hope for those who try to do the right thing, but for whatever reason, are not Christian. In truth, anyone who dies with their heart set on good and avoiding evil, who dies having not rejected their conscience but instead who has died seeking to live by it, will get to Heaven. In the end, all you have to do to get to Heaven, is be good, in the sense of having your heart, your centre of being, oriented towards doing good and avoiding evil. The wafer becomes Jesus, in the Eucharist, and in that sense, Jesus is in what appears to be a wafer. Which bible passage says this cannot be? His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity are transported to the Eucharist, whilst Jesus still remains in Heaven. You should also realise that the KJV bible is missing parts from it, because the Protestant 'reformers' took parts out from the real bible.

I 'm sorry I have to say it but your testimony reveals a highly superficial knowledge of calvinism and roman catholicism. This is the level of education nowadays. You never mention the basic difference among the magisterial reformation and rome. The main difference is synergy. Rome is a strong defender of this heresy. Eastern Orthodoxy also. Protestants (including Presbyterians) also. You have to study Luther. Calvin is not enough. Calvin did the mistake to speak about double predestination and so to focus everything in the question ''how I now I 'm saved'' on deeds. Luthern and lutheranism did not commit this theological crime. They focus on what Jesus has done for the sinner covering him with His blood in baptism. Stay away from Rome. Synergy is the worst philosophy ever and an immediate attack against the gospel. Synergy derives from the belief that in Paradise, Adam has not failed completely, but only in a degree. Rome believes you are not utterly sinful (not only when you sin, but you sin because you are sinful). So, Rome teaches that with the aid of grace (grace is not aid, but Jesus for you) you can fulfil the law, at least to want to do it. Salvation becomes something you are never sure for. Come to confessional lutheranism. Come to the true visible church.

Talking about following traditions of men named Luther or Calvin. We Catholics follow Jesus. Go to Mass and find out for yourself. “DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME” and “WHOEVER EATS MY FLESH AND DRINKS MY BLOOD HAS ETERNAL LIFE”. That IS THE CENTER, Christ HIMSELF.
@isaacosahon43528 ай бұрын
What is the true visible Church between Christ's Ascension and your Confessional Lutheranism? Are you still utterly sinful even with the grace of God? St. Paul would say by no means. Regarding synergy, God takes precedence in the walk of grace. Synergy happens because the walk of grace involves free will. Humans/Christians are not puppets. This is Catholic teaching.
@Λουθηρανισμός8 ай бұрын
@@atgred , I agree. But, Rome, Constantinople and Protestants also believe in synergism. This is the crux of the problem. When someone teaches synergism, he sooner or later put the focus on his deeds and he goes away from the sacraments. He tends to present the gospel as a new law, which is not. Synergism is not the gospel.
@Λουθηρανισμός8 ай бұрын
@@isaacosahon4352 , dear friend, the true, invisible, gospel-centered, Christ-centered, grace-centered church is the one in which Luther and so many Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox' and other christians before the Reformation belonged. The Reformation was and ''Epanastasis'' as we say in greek. Revolution. In greek, it means ''we put back to its original position what was there before''. The true church was and is always invisible. But, the confessional lutheran one has one more advantage. It is the visible true church also. Because it does not teach synergism but clings only to Christ, not to our deeds. Your ''we are not puppets'' argument is not a strong one. Usually, Rome uses it, but with it she tends to present an inactive God, completely dependent on human will. This is not the gospel. This is ancient greek philosophy of virtue, platonism and neo-platonism. Rome forgets what we read in Romans 8, 28-30. Everything is from God, absolutely divine in our salvation. We are predestined in salvation (not the double predestination Calvin told about) nor a sum of divine grace PLUS our deeds as Rome teaches. You can never have assurance of salvation this way. The gospel is security, assurance. And you know where your predestination is. It is in your baptism, in the holy eucharist, in the absolution, by grace, through the gift of faith. For you. No, we can not save ourselves. We are sinful. We can not save ourselves alone or co-operating with the divine grace. If we could do it with the aid of grace, then why did Jesus have to sacrifice Himself for us? We are saved only by faith, i.e. only by Christ. There i plenty of good confessional lutheran material in the internet. Do your research. Also, find a good LCMS church. Love and health I wish you. Bye, my friend. I love roman catholics, but I love the truth more.
@isaacosahon43528 ай бұрын
@@Λουθηρανισμός I could edit everything you just said, but in the Catholic context. Since you called Rome a defender of the "heresy" where God works with the human free will that He created, allow me to use the term correctly and call your community a defender of heresy that makes God a "control freak." So tell me, why is Christ's church "invisible" until Confessional Lutheranism? A Mormon can easily make a similar claim you just made. God is the absolute source of salvation, and no Catholic denies it. Citing Romans 8:28-30 does not answer whether free will has a role in salvation, but there are over three to seven other verses that show that man must freely choose to follow Christ and avoid grave sins. That is why the answer the visible Church gave right before confessional Lutheranism is both God's grace and free will. Was it your synergistic free will to send your extended response to me, or did God's grace control you to do this? I hope your answer is both and. Did the inspired writers document scripture with their free will, or did the Holy Spirit grace them to do so? Again I hope your answer is both and.
