If he wasn't being such a dang pussy about it then the murder likely wouldn't have happened. What he implied was that this is all normal for him, but today he was being pestered longer than usual and "caused him so much suffering, etc...." and he killed her because of the fear it was causing him. He's just handling it BADLY...literally talking like a scared 5 year old about it rather than a man his age. Schizophrenia will certainly make you see, hear, feel, sense things, but it doesn't just make squealing a coward out of a grown man--that it a separate problem that clearly didn't mix well here. A stronger man with a respectable amount of courage to his character would still talk like a raving madman, but he at least would not be driven to kill anyone simply _out of fear_ like this guy claims to have done. Another reason I see this as a failure on his part is that many wouded in

And again, addiction doesn't just magically appear, often people resort to drugs to cope with inescapable pain or traumatic reminders. Telling them to "just say no to drugs" has never worked, it's just a sentiment that ignorant folks like you choose to cling to. You either have never struggled the way this bloke has, or you're just talking sh*t. Substance use disorders ARE considered a mental health diagnosis by both the DSM-5-TR and ICD-11 - manuals used to assist with making a diagnosis. And as I said earlier in my reply, mental health problems often precede the use of drugs to cope with their symptoms. After a whole bunch of bad situations I’ve been through I can sense bad shit about to happen roughly a minute before it usually happens. So far that feeling has stopped me from being ticketed 4/5 times I’ve been pulled over. Last cop had an attitude from California and I knew all the cops down in my small town in Colorado. I’d daily drive 15 minutes down and 15 minutes back to clear my mind and relax. I took the ticket but I should have fought it in court. Now I’ve got a careless driving ticket on my record. I did a California roll and go at 9-10 at night in a small town with no one around. He tried saying I floored it, I explained no, if I floored it you wouldn’t have even caught up to me sir. I would have been long gone. Then a dude in a heavy modified car floored it and the cops laughed and said something about how he was gunna ticket me but not the dude actually driving recklessly. I got pulled over 4 times going from Colorado to Utah to see my son and I’d get pulled over told my car smelled of marijuanna and I’d let them waste an hour of my time searching for zilch just so I could go about my way. They never found anything surprise surprise >.> now I just don’t talk to them at all. I know they’re not all bad but it takes one cop to be an asshole to make your life much harder. If I didn’t move out of state 4 days later I’d have definitely taken it to court and have it thrown out. Moral of the story, don’t admit shit and stay silent, take the ticket and fight it in court.

It was drug induced psychosis which exacerbated mental illness. Mental illness could be exacerbated by hard drug use over time, listing Magill's history with drugs, starting with tobacco, marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, ecstasy, synthetic cannabinoids, or "spice" and alcohol. A psychiatrist hired by prosecutors found Magill killed Mary Ann Moorehouse during a “drug-induced psychosis.” Sugg said during a press conference, after the plea hearing, that the psychiatrist was paid $100,000. Judge considered Magill’s mental health to be a mitigating factor and wanted him to be supervised for longer after he is released from prison, and that was why he did not impose the maximum sentence. 45 years + 5 years supervised probation.

What he was saying demonstrated how dangerous he was at that particular time. They were all vulnerable and yet they didn't appear to believe they were. That's a lack of education on mental illness. The sooner all law enforcement agencies require training on how differently you handle someone like Andrew the better the odds that a police officer won't have his gun stripped from his holster and get shot by someone having a mental breakdown.

Just standing outside, knocking on the door they were utterly *certain* what they would find. It is a story I have heard multiple times from multiple different policemen over the last 30+ years. I know sceptics will wave it away with their hands and say it is nothing but auto-suggestion and 'confirmation bias' or any of a hundred other 'pop-sci' buzzwords (usually delivered by people who have absolutely _no_ training in psychology...) That’s the kind of officer I respect, he had incredible trust in his gut feeling, reiterated it multiple times instead of just keeping it to himself. I think that is a respectable trait to have, strong enough to acknowledge his feelings to others which inturn could help heighten the other officers senses. His intuition/experience (whatever you want to call it) was correct and he then preemptively determined what he would do in future circumstances i.e someone came at them armed etc. The other officer sounded older and less on edge which may come from experience or just being less aware of potential danger. (I may be wrong, some people don’t vocalise their feelings in situations). The officer also radioed in for more help immediately without hesitating as he knew the severity of the immediate situation. This entire story is genuinely like a made up horror movie story, unbelievable unless you watch the video. The world is a crazy place!!
