As a Ukrainian I strongly encourage you, Steven, to stop asking the so-called experts on Eastern Europe from the west and invite someone who really understands what is happening. You know that both Zelensky and Klitchko offered to speak to Joe Rogan on his trashy podcast, and were turned down. Why don’t you invite them? Your podcast is of higher caliber and far more nuanced, you have genuine curiosity, intelligence, integrity and capacity for introspection. You want to know about the true situation in the region, what could have been done better early on, why russia and russians behave the way that they do - ask people with the best knowledge.

Wow. I love it when podcasters interview "Ex" secret service guys. I absolutely don't think that these people have deliberatly been put in the spot light to try and give a soft human face to the U.S. government/secret service/private industry/death machine, in order to make us forget their horrendous crimes against all humanity since WW2. I rate them in the following order: 1) Matt BAKER, (the original and best distraction device) he's the hard but lovable Dad/Football Coach face of the CIA. He could have easily had a recurring role on Blossom if he wasn't a spy. His dedication to warning us that something terrible MIGHT be done by a bad/far away/not like us, country that isn't America helps me forget about Americas ACTUAL illegal activities, like the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and their efforts to generate new conflicts all over the world whilst also undermining basic rights and freedoms here in the West, like spying on all our electronic communications (until Snowden told on them, then they 100% stopped). The fact that these activities created profit/power for a handful of elites, which were paid for with the lives of the working and under class, hardly seems worth mentioning now. "Screw you George Orwell, you're such a Buzz Kill". 2) Andrew BUSTMANTE, he really speaks to me as part of the Pepsi Max generation. He's like the kid that doesn't fit in on Beverly Hills 90210. It's because he isn't fake. He's just like us, and that's how you know you can trust him. When I hear him speak, I 100% forget about when the U.S. overthrew the democratically elected government of Chile in 1973. Murdering President Allende because he had a suspicious socialist mustache and replacing him with the facist General Pinochet who murdered, tortured and imprisoned thousands of his own subjects for years but had a nice mustache that did what America wanted. I hope Bustamante gets his own spin off series like Scrappy doo or something, he could go around the world on a rocket powered Skateboard listening to the same music as us and reassuring is that "yea, the CIA have made mistakes but basically their cool". 3) John KIRIAKOU. He's like a 'down on his luck' uncle or something. Sure, he's made mistakes, but basically, he's a good guy. His name is sort of European, so he's one of us sort of, isn't he? When he speaks, I 100% forget about the way the U.S. secret service keep running over and killing British subjects, cos they are confused about what side of the road to drive on. Then they are allowed to flee the country cos of freedom or whatever. Then, the British government just let them get away with it because of subjugation or whatever. I hope that if Fonzy moves out, the Mom out of 'Happy Days' lets him stay in her basement while he gets himself back on his feet again. Anyway. I'm glad Podcasters and the press have stopped going on and on about Edward Snowden. He was always going on and on about how dodgy the government/elites/spy agencies were. That's no good. I like an enemy that wears a big fur hat with a red star on it, or talks funny, or doesn't think independently like I get told to, you know the sort of thing. Something that's easy to understand where I don't have to think too much. Oh, well. I've talked enough. I seem to have suddenly developed super bad depression. No idea what will happen to me next. Bye everybody. I love you, George Washington!!!

Fact check: - Putin never said he wants to restore the former Soviet Union territory -HK was never a democracy in 150 years of British Rule - Taiwan is a matter of historical justice for China. Ceding Taiwan to Japan in 1895 was so devastating that the last support for a Constitutional Monarchy for the Qing court was gone. By 1911, the 2000 years of Imperial rule ended. Losing Taiwan was the last straw on the camel's back. Reuniting with Taiwan is closure for China to close the page on what it regards as 100 years of humiliation 1850-1950. Whoever can get this done will be canonized as the sage king in the Chinese historic tradition. - The gov that took over China was called the Republic of China, who allied with the US against Japan in WW2. They lost China to CPC and fled to Taiwan. The US support for ROC began in 1937 and continues today. The reasons for its support have obviously evolved over time.

I have lots of good things to say about Stevens podcasts. However, he really dropped the ball on this one. His lack of knowledge of geopolitics, general history and even highly controversial current affairs was disappointing. His questions for Mike Baker were all softballs, and he had no questions for any of the state department propaganda responses that were lobbed at him. I'm usually very impressed with how well prepared he is, and what intelligent follow up questions he asks. I'm afraid that this conversation did far more harm than good.

I fully concur with @johnfoley5902's critique of this interview. Steven Bartlett, who is typically a paragon of preparation and incisive questioning, truly missed the mark here. For a topic as weighty and consequential as this, particularly in such uncertain times as Steven himself noted, the lack of rigor was glaringly evident. The interview felt uncharacteristically flippant, almost as if it had been dictated by the guest’s conditions-a “bunny” interview that tiptoed around anything remotely probing. It wouldn’t surprise me if Mike Baker made it clear beforehand that hard questions were off-limits, or he’d simply walk. This restraint left the conversation teetering on the edge of superficiality, with softball questions and no pushback against what often came across as sanitized state department talking points. For someone who consistently raises the bar with thoughtful, challenging discussions, this episode was a letdown. I hope Steven takes this as an opportunity to recalibrate because his usual blend of intellectual curiosity and sharp analysis is what sets his podcast apart. Here’s hoping for a return to form in future interviews where substance and depth once again take center stage.

I really appreciated his critical thinking, and insights, that is based on info, I never was privy to. To his credit, he seemed to have a very objective view of the situations covered. What initially drew me to follow your journey was your transformation as a successful entrepreneur. At the start of your career, you seemed to define success purely by how much money you could make. Over time, however, it’s been inspiring to see how you’ve started to question what success truly means, challenging your core beliefs and striving to become a better, more grounded human being. As an osteopath focused on supporting people’s well-being, I’ve also re-evaluated my own understanding of success. While I still approach my work with the same dedication I had at the beginning, my perspective on what truly matters has evolved as well.

These kinds of resources will shift the balance of Power in Russia's favor for Decades. The Goal is Russia wants control over nearly 70% of the Artic Ocean. Over 100 Billion Barrels of Oil and over 2,000 trillion cubic feet of natural gas remains untapped under the Artic Ocean. The US went for the manufacturing to China because it is cheaper there and that makes profits higher, look at the older episodes of shark tank for instance. Now that made China develop manufacturing, people got better salaries there, a lot of people got out of poverty. Now China is manufacturing about everything, and to turn that back around is not so easy, that takes time. So we decide now that China is our enemy, their economy is growing and surpassing the US. Chi must be evil, a dictator, Hitler or whatever they come up with, at least a real threat. This also is the reasons for the wars, stealing oil and gas makes a lot faster profit then building back up the manufacturing. When we get people fighting with each other in other countries we can take over, that is the purpose of sanctions. Thing is I think the US is throwing their capital into wars that could be used in producing and manufacturing, that would be good for the citizens, but they are not trying to safe the citizens, they are trying to save the upper class, and wars bring profits, so if the dollar goes down, and they have more dollars it will not effect them that much.
