"We see hes emotional" ... okay so hes emotional and made the single biggest mistake in the franchise thats not a justification thats just repeating the statement, he made a stupid decision and screwed everyone, drax lost his entire family due to thanos and he didnt screw every over No he wouldnt have won, if starlord hadnt responded like that they would have gotten the gauntlet and you do realise if they had won they wouldnt need to even have endgame, he wasnt why they won endgame hes the reason they had an endgame at all You cant pretend starlord was more justified and she was super irrational

Whoever wrote that ending should be fired. In all the movies where protagonists make stupid decisions that cause them or their friends to die, there's always a little semblance of reasoning behind their dumb decision. In this case, there's absolutely no reason why anyone in Beverly's shoes would do what she did. Unless they built up the character to be an absolute moron, there's no way they would choose to stop the ritual. I mean, she was almost killed by the kid, and Violet told her that Rose is dead. Why would anyone stop an exorcism or killing of a demon after everything she witnessed. It seems to me that the writer had already decided that the bad guys would win before they even started writing the script. But they ended up writing themselves into a corner, so their solution was to make Beverley do something completely idiotic. But that's just lazy writing. They should have either changed the ending or changed the set up. Hell, if they just made Phil regain consciousness sooner and had him kill Walter to stop the ritual, that would have made a lot more sense.
