I remember in 90s being so embarrassed we bought 40k from Argos on my birthday, I didn't want to go in GW for paint. My mum told them and next thing I know I'm stuck in a game, they gave me a "Mad Dog" badge for my wild strategy, made a proper fuss, I had to phone Nottingham and call an airstrike on a game they were playing up there. Only in my 30s I look back and realised how nice they were that day, I just figured it was the best day of my young life. Big love for GW

Many years ago, I came back from the pub, sliiightly worse for wear, and decided to finish off some half-painted Imperial Guard before turning in. For reasons best known to drunk me, I decided to take my top off and, later managed to spill half a pot of Sunburst Yellow into my belly button. My biggest sin was I bought a half painted tau army including the forgeworld tau titan, I'm not a meta chaser or particularly like tau but just thought they looked cool. Realised I'd never be able to paint anywhere near as good as so got the seller who happened to work for siege studios to paint the remainder for me. That cost me a pretty penny on top of the army. Played 2 games with them 1 at Warhammer world and then couldn't connect to the army cos I felt it was too well painted for me and sold it at a huge loss immediately after. There's a reason I'm almost 30 and don't own my own house.

About the numbers after names: It's often the ISPs or the companies running the sites; you get people wanting to use their names (or the company defaulting to using their names), and then you have to deal with name collisions. The more common the name, the more collisions you have (think of, for example, how many "John Smith"s the motor vehicle department sees), so the easiest and least involved solution is to simply slap a number at the end of the name. And the collisions can even get wierder -- many years ago, when I was going to give blood at the local blood bank, I was asked if I'd ever used another Social Security Number. It turned out that there was another Sean Malloy, with my birth date -- not just month and day, but year -- who was working at the same place I did, who'd donated blood at a blood drive. We had different middle initials, though, or things would have _really_ gotten wierd.

I bought Deimos pattern Rhino for my DG from FW back in 2019, when there were no new plastic one on the horizon. that was not a cheap deal, and I also wanted DG legion doors for it so bad, and it was not available from FW at the moment, also being ridiculously costed… so I had a pair of recasted doors. that's the only recast across my four armies, and it tortures me to this day. forgive me, for I've sinned.

Hey Max (Lizard of Doom), a question came up to me while I was watching the video. Does GW provide each store with painted miniatures that are painted at GW HQ or does each store have to paint their own stuff to promote a new release (like Leviathan for example)? Surely, not all gamers are painters (or good painters anyway) and I've been to a few stores that look like they have a standard quality of painted miniatures on display, including terrain, battlescapes, buildings, etc.

It is all built and painted in store by the local staff. A blessing and a curse really, fun to see all the new stuff early but its usually a tight deadline to get it all painted.

After a pretty nasty breakup with an ex girlfriend cheating and and not knowing what I was doing with moving or staying in the house… I threw all my painted models into boxes with dice, books and other hobby items with no packing, cases or padding.. I'd say my biggest sin is getting 50% through my pile of grey, feeling the fatigue of painting that scheme and picking up a new army/box set of something entirely different. Example, I have been painting necrons for 2.5 months approx 1000pts painted fully and based...now bored - bought 1400pts of custodes :D As you say it's future fun...but we won't talk about the Seraphon army box that's still on my shelf from it's release.....

Back in Warhammer Fantasy 6th edition, I paid 5 points to put a rune of burning on one of my Dwarf cannons purely to negate the saving throw of my friend's Greater Daemon of the Horned Rat. One very successful shooting phase later, his model was being removed from the table and I had contributed to the (thoroughly deserved) reputation that Dwarf players had at the time. This was back when Daemon saves were negated by magical attacks, which were almost exclusively the domain of characters and almost always close combat only.

Warhammer sins? Hm. I've been painting for around about 2-3 years now and haven't actually played a single game nor collected a full army. I have bits and pieces of about a half dozen factions painted. I've got a bunch of space marines, none of them in the same chapter colors. I have various Orks, a few Tau, the Leviathan Tyranids, three Flagellants, and Belakor.

Sadly all the best robbery stories I have are from people who slipped blister packs into their coat and continued to stay around the shop. I'm sure im not alone in this, but i dont bother cleaning up models (mold lines/nubs etc) I find the time it takes to do properly versus how much im bothered by its effect on the final model not worth the trade off. It's also way more conducive to priming on sprue and sub assemblies.

well ok YOU ASKED me never paint blood olny if the spiky bits on the mini welll spiked me but i uesed my hare to fix wolves an horses TAILS ok what do cut bit off and tack bit thread and crazay glue and wrap the thred round it with the glue then i dril a hole whare goes and crazay glue in and when dry trim to wright shape and paint the wright coloer to match the mini and yes flat selent wel thats it thay look ok and if did asay thing you never know to nest vid
