Do you realize. For a lot of Christians these KZbin channels, including your own. You guys become pastors to them or at least something akin to one. The Church of You Tube is strong. Especially with Christians who say they don't need a church. They have faith and they have a Bible. Yet they end up treating Christian KZbinrs and channels as pastors and churches

@@Defender_of_Faith I listen to Ruslan a lot because he has substance and helps me grow in my faith, that doesn't mean that he is my pastor. I think that's the case for most people. There are so many things I learn from this channel that the Church doesn't teach.

The problem is a church audience that wants pastors as entertainers, someone to tickle their emotions and egos, rather than to shepherd them directly and hold them accountable. @@sasukee514 Yes. That, too. But once the attendees have come into Christ, the mission for them is to live one day at a time giving honor to him and serving others. That takes careful and wise shepherding, which is why Paul's letters are full of practical counsel, especially to pastors and elders. It requires a close local church community and accountability with each other. For the evil one is out there trying to pick off the lambs. The Lord's grace and peace be with you this day.

I don't think the solution for Carl was "finding a platform" that' wasn't beyond his capacity. Carl was a youth pastor, and he did all the same things. He had the "capacity" to be a youth pastor. For Carl, the issue was character. The systemic issue you address is that churches prioritize a person's gift above their character, and we can't know their character because they don't have a genuine track record that shows you who they are. Churches have gotten exactly what they asked for, much like Israel who wanted a king to be like all the other nations (1 Samuel 8:5).

I hope Carl is truly making changes in his life, for the Lord, for his wife and family, for himself. His mannerisms, his dress, what he is going after are saying something else, though. It’s definitely a process, but seeking another public platform of influence is the opposite of “live a quiet life and work with your hands.” The opposite of what a person with these issues should be doing. As you experienced in the comment section, he already has KZbin groupies defending him. His wife seems like a sincere christian, no offense, but she didn’t know what he was up to the first time. I don’t think we can look to her for an unbiased view of him. So proceed with caution with people like this. Certainly pray for them and hold no ill will, but time will tell if he is actually being real or just manipulating more fixes for his need for power and control. That happens a lot.

I use to work for a "mini Hillsong" type church in Long Island 10 ys ago - the Pastor was young along with the entire staff - they were being worshiped like rock stars - it was my first church experience so I didn't have anything to compare it to but I knew something was off with the culture- fast forward, the executive / worship pastor quit abruptly and shortly thereafter the Pastor fired me (Director of Finance, Operations and Administration) and literally said it was because he could "never live up to my expectations "! Basically he was tired of being questioned on how money was being spent - since then I believe every founding member has left, the Pastors wife left him, the replacement worship leader was fired for sleeping around, etc.... so so sad to watch - I relate very much to this church culture conversation 😢

My concern is that the same temptations are still there and always will be. If fame increased the access, then he needs to stay out of positions that keep him exposed on a larger scale to others. This seems like rebranding to me and using his past experiences as a twist in his personal drama for entertainment. He's also used to a lifestyle and needs to use his brand to get that back. Go get a management job at Costco and do layman's ministry or small group leadership at your local church without pay like millions of genuine Christians with a heart to serve. Write a book and/or do guest spots on other platforms to help others but don't keep manipulating people for your attention and financial gain. I think the video room setting along with his look and fashion are still catering to his narcissistic image. Many guys like him in ministry take the moral risks knowing that if they get caught will say sorry, take some time off, and rebrand. Forgive, but re-platform?

The leadership point is right on. I’ve seen this in multiple churches and the vetting process is exactly what you said. Charismatic, good looking, and can teach. Don’t forget the person is popular on social media and has a lot of people following them. The problem that I’ve seen is there are people that come to leadership positions in the church and they aren’t properly vetted but it’s about, “do they have a big following” and not about can they get people to follow Jesus. You’ve been a Christian for two weeks but you meet all that criteria of superficial acceptance, “step on board and lead these people to Christ”. I think that that’s a problem in a lot of churches in the US today.

12:03 this is so well said 👏 there is not one person recognized as pastor in the New Testament. The gifting is recognized, but no one is ever called out as pastor so and so. Yet we see apostle. We see prophet. We see teaching as a gift separate from the office of pastor. Yet in our modernized American church business model pastor and teacher are typically the same person. It’s time to reassess our church structure and go back to the way it was intended. Where the center of every church service was not a man behind the pulpit, but Jesus.

I am a chaplain and I deal with broken people on a daily basis. I am broken. We are all broken. We all have experienced loss and trauma which causes a plethora of feelings including shame and guilt. Because life has to go on, many of us don't address our trauma soon after it happens. We need to remain humble and compassionate toward others. We are in this struggle together, people. Pray for people everywhere. Pray for the church of Jesus Christ. Judgment begins first with us. The charismatic Pentecostal church does not encourage confession even though we are instructed to confess our faults/sin to each other. Not only that, betrayal/judgement are big in the church.

YESSSS... go be entrepreneurs, workers, etc as a "surrendered" follower of Jesus. Ruslan, bro, that is such a good statement. This IS a systemic issue in the Church (American). Have seen it first hand and been healed by a pastor's hurt. As a pastor (me), there is a sobering reality about all of this with people's expectation thrust upon us. Real submission to Jesus in every area in your life (Prov. 3:5-6) is the only weapon against this idolatry. [Now on to finishing this video.]

This wife has already been modernized by the church because she says that she would have been gone , she would have left , and though she said that she chose to stay, it breaks my heart that the church basically 99.9% or deceived in thinking that they have a right to go because they marriage has been violated. Though it has been violated it has not dissolved and it doesn't dissolve until the husband dies. But regardless I do have to give her some props to the wife here and is displaying what Jesus Does when his wife sends and repents, she forgives. Sadly the modern churches will run with the adultery card and divorce their spouse. I have to commend the wife, and commend that man because he repented and she forgave. Forgiveness and Reconciliation goes hand in hand, and the church thinks that divorcing someone because they violated their Covenant is grounds for divorce and that is the LIE of the devil. Jesus said that divorce is of hard hearts, now why did he say that? He explains it in Mark 10 2-12, and he also said that we are to have forgiving hearts for giving 70 * 7, and that if we don't forgive our father will not forgive our sins. Some people go yeah well I forgive them but I can't take him back, imagine Jesus telling us that I forgive you but you're not coming into my kingdom. Covenant marriages as the vows that we have taken, are For Better or For Worse and if adultery is not worse, and if abuse is not worse, and of addictions are not worse ,what is. Again I am sure that in his church there are people that are divorced and remarried living in sexual adultery because God does not recognize their marriage. According To Jesus and according to Paul anyone divorcing and remarrying are living in a state of adultery. If this man and this woman are married for the first time and it is a covenant one flesh marriage then they are displaying what Christ and his bride represent. Everyone else that has divorced and kicked their spouse to the curb has a hard heart and should not call themselves a Christian because it is not Christ like to kick someone to the curb. What we are to do in those circumstances when a spouse violates their marriage like mine was violated three times can't make that for when I was pregnant with my last child, we have to remember that if someone is repentant we forgive them. 1 Corinthians 7:10 and 11 says that if the woman depart let her remain unmarried or reconcile, and the husband should not divorce his wife. Why is it that the modern Church will pull out the adultery card and say that they have a way out because they broke the covenant. They don't even know what words to use, in the same manner that Israel violated and broke in a sense like an arm gets broken it is still attached it is still part of the arm, it is not severed. Marriage is for life the violated, it is not severed only until one dies. 1 Corinthians 7:39. And we see in Romans 2-3 that Paul only gives permission for a remarriage to another person when the husband or the wife is dead not when they're divorced. I am pleasantly and happily surprised that this couple again hopefully they are one flesh marriage and none of them have been divorced before because I don't know them very well, but they are displaying exactly what Jesus and Paul said, forgiveness and Reconciliation go hand in hand, and they're better off than millions of other professed Christians who rather than forgive and reconcile divorce them kick them to the curb and marry someone else only to make a big old mess with step parents, and step cousins and step uncles and step grandparents, God never made that to be right and it isn't. Now I'm going to
