WOW. Best film I've seen in years. This is what should be winning Oscars and BAFTAs, not the same old predictable Hollywood rebooting of superhero comics or tv shows.

this trailer gave away the whole movie!

After seeing the film tonight, this trailer is disappointing. It makes the film look like an action thriller, but really it's psychological intrigue and the smartest use of science fiction I've seen in a long time. There is a feeling of feasibility that permeates the film, along with a twisted ego that is very much restrained and treated with absolute believability. Remarkable performances by the three leads. One of my favorite films so far this year.

I'm glad I never watched the trailers for this before watching it. This trailer completely spoils the entire movie, and would've ruined every bit of tension and intrigue.

GreenWithEvil You got that right. I went into that movie really wanting to like it, but I was Disappointed. With a capital D. If we can believe the preview for this one though, I think it'll be good. If it at least takes the idea of of AI and consciousness seriously, then I think it'll be a really good movie. Oh, and no Australian rap stars. What were they thinking when they made that movie?!?

grayfoxfive lol they're not Australian, the blond pixie is a born an raised South African an the tall dude is from Johannesburg, South Africa I think... but yea...Chappie was quite the disappointment. They made the trailer look so sick, I guess that's how they trick us these days. That an it always puzzles me when a character in a movie says he's created a "robot" that can "think and feel".

***** Ha, good catch, I do remember talking to my son about them and their origins now. As for Ex Machina, I finally caught it over the weekend, and it's a fantastic movie. Chappie can't even hold a candle to it.

Excellent movie! Seduction, betrayal, paranoia. And realistic in a way, nothing seemed impossible, and you ask yourself, how far are we from that?

Can you mistreat a robot?? It is not like it is human or even an animal, it is an artificial thing. I think most viewers got tricked into feeling sorry for the robots and so did that young guy who helped let that robot escape in the helicopter, and that was his ultimate demise, he let his emotions get in the way and totally disregarded his non disclosure agreement too! . Never feel sorry for robots, if you are a builder of robots put in a fail safe programme so they will never harm humans and it would be a good idea to have a shot gun handy too.

I won't go into details about what I liked (and didn't like), but i think Ex_Machina could easily be placed up with some of the best Ai movies ever made: 2001: A Space Odyssey,and Bladerunner to name a few. P.S., I like the geek underscore in the name. Anyone whose ever programmed a computer would understand the convention.

Yes, it was so good! Loved that movie. It touched on the whole sexbot topic without being too graphic or offensive. I think it gave a good explanation of the dangers of AI without being too technical. The twists were great and very entertaining!
@ericcartman17129 жыл бұрын
OriginalSinbad666 we need more sophisticated AI movies like this, instead of over the top cliched action movies. I swear every action movie with AI these days always show as soon as robots become self-aware they're horny to kill all humans because REASONS (insert causes the director himself isn't sure about) lol
@OriginalSinbad6669 жыл бұрын
Eric Cartman right? Excellent comment. It would be good for the public to understand more about the dangers of AI. Its not just about telling you if its raining outside. Lol Oscar Issac was so good you couldn't tell he was acting. Having said that I havent seen Ultron who is also supposed to be an AI out of control. I liked the subtlety of Ex Machina. It was definitely sophisticated and placed in the near future which I also liked.

worst movie of all time!!! did you know it cost 15$ million dollars to make this!! there were no big sets or big actors and it was all made in 1 area, one robot and stabbing at that's it. $15 million dollars??? that coulda fed an entire fukin country and this dude was like yeah i'll make a movie about how i own a global search engine and can make sexy looking robots that i mistreat. if there was a moment when you realize how useless hollywood is, this is it. it's astounding to me, i think about it all the time lol

Imo best sci fi movie ever made. The storyline and acting is incredible. You do not always need famous actors for a good movie, thats complete bullshit
