He is good at telling sea stories. I remember a Navy where the seals just did their job like everyone else. They didn’t tell their stories to impress and make money. Too many love the lure of social media and hollywood. The old timers are rolling in their graves.

The commitment required to achieve the status of a SEAL is insane. On top of that, the mental toughness along with the physical stamina these special people process makes them unstoppable. My old boss use to tell all of us, if we run into a SEAL, try to get the contact information because the company’s policy was hire any and all SEALs, because they don’t understand the words can’t or failure .

Kudos to you & your boss ! The Seals deserve all the respect in the world & that's why I always appreciate anyone exposing the frauds whom say they were Seals ; yet do not have any idea of the sacrifice they endure. The sacrifice is great & I would say that it mostly is the missing of the ones whom gave all when all Hell Breaks Loose ! I never was in combat or did the superhero stuff like they did , however I saw one of the those whom gave all . They are always missed & the people whom are Real Navy , always remember those whom gave all. My ship had Seals aboard & I will tell you a big Secret if you promise Not To Tell ...... Our Seal Team Equipped ship mostly delivered milk & cookies to USO Shows featuring Bob Hope ........... Please keep this national Secret just between us , O.K. ? Nick , NavyBlueSmoke , LST-1195

"You have to create your own mission when you do not have a greater one to work for anymore." Great advice for all of us, especially when we come to "the end" of working lives. You need a purpose always in life, else you will fall off the track and turn to things like alcohol.

Nothing was said more true than this. I am one of these older people that went thru life with no real purpose but being a company man for a company that doesn’t really even care for me nor I it. I did only find things to satisfy myself in the short term because that’s all I ever looked for and now body beaten down with grave mental dysfunction here I sit still waiting and hoping filled with regret for a wasted life. It’s not self pity it’s just a fair warning that you won’t hear from people that have lived it, only hear it from people that haven’t. I know what I did and there’s no one to blame for it. You can never go back.

Seals are all amazing individuals. Getting through the training isn't physical, it's mental. Just a state of mind. Either you can call up that fortitude or you can't. Very few can, and many wash out. Read up on David Goggins, another guy in a league all by himself.

As a former commercial deep sea diver with considerable experience (9 years with surface-supplied and saturation diving) and later with 12 years of experience as an offshore consultant when diving operations were often involved, that so-called instructor you had badly needed a knuckle sandwich. You very easily could have lost your life. The man was an absolute reckless idiot and an embarrassment to professional divers.

Agreed, that guy needed his ass handed to him. I had a similar situation with a dive master dropping a 15 year old kid in 80fsw, at midnight on mini-season. The kid was lucky I was watching him or he wouldn't be here today. I took the dive masters cards from and told him to find another career before he killed someone! Hooyah! I had a girlfriend in HS that grew up in Riyadh in the early 80's...small world! Heather Arnold, had a brother named Neil...

My LST-1195 had a few aboard & they were always busy & looked strained & exhausted . I still thought they were supermen & I still do. They trained with The Master of Masters & somehow survived ; that was quite impressive since The Master equals at least a Battalion , all by himself .......... You suck them off too much! Yes, they're great and all but there's other elite units and even infantry are great too; (who do you think won the wars of old?) Also, there's no way a whole group of SEALs, Green Berets, Rangers, Raiders, AF Commandos, etc much less one could take on a whole battalion of Army or Marine Infantry warriors so stop sucking them off guy!

In 878 King Arthur was being attacked by the vikings. He only had a handful of men and fought with everything they had. However it ended up with the vikings on one side of the river and the king and his men on the other. There was a bridge but of course the vikings could have cut them down as they were trying to cross. Along come Welsh men who couldn’t speak English but were fighting with the king. They waited until nightfall and then they went under the water and walked under the water/river until they got to the other side where the vikings had no idea they were coming and were easily taken down This same tactic is still taught to the SAS and the Navy Seals. Makes me proud to be Welsh lol
