The US Women have officially been eliminated from The Soccer Tournament, losing to both Say Word FC and Wrexham Red Dragons on Thursday, June 1.
The US Women's team - which was comprised of former USWNT players, organized by three-time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA Women's World Cup champion Heather O'Reilly and coached by USWNT legend Mia Hamm - struggled in each of their two outings. They gave up 17 goals in the tournament and scored none.
Their defeat at the hands of Wrexham was a 12-0 drubbing that saw the Red Dragons score five times in the first 14 minutes of action. Lee Trundle recorded four goals for the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned club.

100%. But I don't think the issue of equal pay should have anything to do with the fact that the average male footballer is so much better than the average footballer. We all know male footballers earn silly amounts of money, and while the figures involved are ludicrous, it's simple supply and demand, and it makes complete logical sense: Football is the world's biggest sport, clubs earn billions in revenue through advertising, sponsorships, attendances, shirt sales, prize money, and whatever else. Of course they're going to spend top dollar for the best players to try and get to the top. The absurd thing about the demand for equal pay isn't even about the gulf in ability between the sexes. While it may be true that no women would play top flight football if the sport became unisex, the fact remains that men and women don't face each other in competitive football. So considering women's teams don't measure themselves against male opponents in competition, it makes no sense for them to measure themselves against the men in terms of pay. It's simple business and basic math; if the women's game becomes as popular as the men's, then they will organically earn as much as them. This whole thing about demanding equal pay just because they think they deserve it is completely bonkers.

The USA is a country with a population of over 320,000,000, by contrast Wales is a small country in the British Isles with a population of around 3,000,000 and within Wales lies a small city named Wrexham with a population of 44,795. At the time of this tournament Wrexham A.F.C. played football League Two which is the fourth league in English football. Prior to their 2021 takeover they played what is known as non-league football where the players are semi-professional and have jobs outside of football.

Una condición más, si el equipo masculino lleva 3 goles o más terminado el primer tiempo, se les va a prohibir correr a máxima velocidad durante todo el segundo tiempo y solo podrán trotar y habrá un velocímetro que medirá la velocidad de dichos jugadores y si alguno de ellos sobrepasa los 25km/h se sancionará como falta a favor del equipo femenino y si un jugador sobrepasa los 25km/h 2 veces se le sancionará con amarilla y si lo hace por dos veces más será expulsado.

(april 2017, supposedly it was a scrimmage used as a warmup as in a few days the USWNT (US womens national team) were preparing to face off against the RWNT (russia's womens national team)). so 7 years ago the womens US national team got picked apart in a friendly match with a under15 org of boys. that same womens national team qualified for the 2016 olympics by beating out 5 other teams, and went 2-0-1 in groups, before losing in overall points to sweden in the quarterfinals. they later went on to win the 2018 Concacaf Championship Final and the 2019 womens world cup final as well as placing 3rd in the 2021 olympics. TLDR: One of the best/the best womens team IN THE WORLD at the time dropped a friendly match vs a under 15 boys team

Here in Germany, something very similar happened to the women's world champions of 2003 in the same year. They played a 3x15 minute game against the C youth team from Stuttgart. The women's national team lost by something like 0:9, I can't remember exactly how much. What I do know, however, is that the result was very fortunate for the women, because the boys hit the crossbar and post a few times. They were all boys between 14 and 16, the youngest was almost 14, but at the time of the game he was still 13(!).

I would like to say that there is no need to laugh at women. Physically, we are not the same. So what? Is that a reason to mock? I am sure that within women’s teams, they are competitive. They are professionals and love football just as much. Someday, we will live in a world where people understand that men and women are simply different, and that’s not a bad thing.
