@@happycorn3r Thank you! What I really focus on is the value of the content and what I’m truly passionate about while helping others! I'm glad that I'm foolish enough to believe that I can actually start making money through my passions. I've never thought that I'd be able to gain more than 2k subs faster. I can't imagine how many opportunities could have been wasted if I didn't have courage to go after them. That includes having this channel, being in a management role, having the people who actually care about me for who I am, freelance gigs, being an ambassador in a creative community and now I'm also planning on honing my public speaking skills through joining a toastmaster club and these all happened in 2023. It started with writing them all down on a piece of paper. A paper that serves as a reminder for me to go after what I want even through hard times. Consistency is very important, and that is one thing I will be working on from now. Great clip, indeed, the start is so important, I can also advise for the starters not to get into this view for view thing, it's kind of ok if you have so much time to watch and comment on many clips, but the bad part is that you will attract many people that have no respect for your channel. Before starting a youtube channel, I thought the hardest thing to do is to stay organized and disciplined with content creation. In fact, the hardest thing is to work 8-9 hours a day while not seeing any result, not even speaking of money. I know, I just need to push through, but its just so freaking hard in the beginning. Sometimes I am asking myself, am I crazy? If I would just do the same job (filming, editing, writing content) for another company, I would have a stable income. But well, I think I am not the only one going through this right now. Started my youtube 6 months ago. Will keep going.

I never knew about the 5 video startup method. I am just about to start up my 2nd channel, so I will definitely be trying that out. I now have a question... My primary channel is now just over 2 years old. Since around February I have LOST over 2-3k watched hours (total) within the last 365 days. On occasions it will start to increase, but then I lost again. As I only have 745 subs to-date, that amount of watched hours would've taken me months and months to accrue, and cannot really afford to lose. I have posted this question around various other channels but either no-one knows or my post doesn't gets answered. I even scoured through the community boards and they weren't any help either. What is cas=using this and how can I stop it?

There are various reasons why watch time can decrease, for example you deleted a video, set a video as unlisted, or a video was deleted by KZbin for violating copyright/Terms. Google Support has some articles on this topic or you can reach out to KZbin on Twitter to see if they can help.

@@TubeBuddy Okay thanks. Well none of the above has happened so I know that isn't the issue. I did look through the google community boards a while back, without much luck, so I guess the only option, as you suggested, is that I need to tweet them. This is getting beyond a joke tbh. Some days it does increase, sometimes by 100+ hours over a week or so, only for me to promptly to lose it all again. When this started, I had around 2200 watched hours, and now have lost around 3000, so if it was the other way around, I would say I should be on at least 2500 by now, if not more. And thank you for your response.
