EX30 Impressions and Range Comparison with Sherman S, Kingsong S22, EXN (info in description)

EX30: 74km - 49% remaining (no distance correction - should be -7%)
S22: 70 km - battery entirely depleted
Sherman S - 47.3km - 58% remaining (we will retest here)
EXN HS: 77.5km 8% (no distance correction - should be -7%)
The EXN HS is running modified dynamic tiltback firmware which allowed deep discharge to lower voltage but this does not how in Darknessbot which assumes 3.3v to be 0%.
The EX30 performed as expected and in line with the battery capacity. I am assuming 3.3v or 105.6v to be 0%. EXN performed worse than expected. S22 performed a bit worse than expected.
Over time I have learned to expect the following for an average rider in average conditions.
900Wh = 35km
1800Wh = 70km
2700Wh = 105km
3600Wh = 140km
Depending on riding style, weight, weather and especially speed.
I don't see +10C and zipping at 40-60kmh as average but riders are simply going faster and faster these days. In a world where we see anything below 50kmh as slow.

I really love the Master for the same reasons brought up in this vid: It combines the #1 best thing about a small wheel, the "zippyness" and the #1 best thing about big wheels, the stability. A stable zippy wheel. Feels insanely powerful. But it needs customization to make it great. The bumpers are a must just so you can carry it and I replaced the air suspension with a 30€ spring one that's much stiffer and rarely bottoms out.

I have been following you for quite some time. I fell in love with the Nikola, because of your testimonies. You’re different from other influencers, because you’re honest with your reviews. Rarely, will owners critique their purchases. I have heard so many glowing reviews of the Sherman S. I haven’t heard anyone use the word fine tuned. That resonated with me, because that’s the direction EUC manufacturers should focus. Are you recommending a Sherman S over the EX 30? Have you mounted the V13? If so, how does it rank in the finely tuned area? Thanks

EX30's a tank, heavy as heck & l couldnt even go up a short but fairly steep climb that would not be a problem on the RSt. Now almost 2 weeks later, its growing on me. Not as heavy anymore & the power of the ex30 is as torquey (if not more) then the RSht but deceptively so. The ex30 is basically over torque/lean proof. Not just hi speed but also climbs amazing. As good as the RSht IMO. Suspension is great for me, quiet & takes out all the hard edges of every surface I've been on. Still adapting but liking the ex30 mor & mor

i was thinking about the sherman s but im scraping my toes on the Master. i dont know if i could go back to lower pedals. i might just rebuild my Master with EMA's suspension and P45B batteries after this season

I thought I was the only one that felt the same exact way. I own the ex30 and I’m very close to selling it because of how slow it feels you need to lean so hard to build up speed. I’m just hoping that Begode releases a firmware update to perhaps fix the torque if it’s not out in the next few weeks it’s gone.

I read you're description. Strange i range tested the s22 and got 92km with average speed of 45kph and had 16% left. 30 percent of the test was on roads with traffic speeds up to 65kph, rest was done on a bike trail. I also find it funny you said it was the best wheel on market, its a horrible mess. Constantly broken and requires thousands of dollars of extras to make up for how crappy it is.

We live in a pretty cold country. We have done several range tests riding the S22 vs EXN and other wheels. No rider has ever gotten 92km here and an average of 45kmh sounds really high. There is no way in hell we could ever get such a high riding average. It is quite a mess yes... but when it comes to how it behaves, size, performance, weight, feel it gets a lot of things right. The S22 owners here though know first hand how much of a problem it has been... which is ironic considering their reputation for "safety" and "quality". One of our riders getting dumped off the front of the wheel while racing on my EXN was definitely not safe lmao.

I have a question I’m debating on getting the EX30 or Sherman s I want the range that they both have but I want speed and acceleration which the EX30 has. But I also want reliability and safety that I believe the Sherman has much better than the EX30. So idk I would like ur opinion since ur able to ride both which I’m not able to. Also I’m a v11 rider for 2yrs now 6k plus miles on it

I have been riding begode wheels with dynamic tiltback custom firmware now for the past year. To me... that is the definition of safety and that is why I chose the EX30. The Sherman S has superior suspension and clearance. It also has great torque which is not difficult to access. While the EX30 is stronger and faster on paper... it is not easy to get it to speed not get it up hills. Still... if I am going to be hitting 50mph / 80kmh with -13% correction then I want something more than beeps to save me.

the ex30 is mhas more Zip imo to the sherman S and idk what u mean but zippy to me means acceleration and I rode both and found the ex30 to be much more zippy feeling on the street than the sherman s. The s22 is still my wheel of choice since I am an off road rider ... if I wasnt I would like the ex:30 for the street, or the commander pro for street and then sherman s is in the 2nd tier imo imo.

People keep asking "why the S19" and it seems clear to me that putting the same suspension specs in a significantly lighter wheel with the same power as the original S20/S22 (or close enough) results in somewhat less range but a supremely agile wheel for skate parks and supercross tracks, or just x-country/enduro blasting across open range terrain and singletrack.

No. The s19 is kingsongs bud light moment. A 3500 watt motor with just under 1800 wh you well be looking at 35 to 40km max. Same failed suspension as the s22. Marketed as a commuter wheel, well not with those numbers. No option for custom pads. Instead, you are riding on a disco mess junky toy that well be nothing but problems, also comes with that awful s18 rim and tire. For a company with no long range cruiser, this would have been the move to make.

​@@null9162 I couldn't ride a regular unicycle to save my life. Learning to ride an electric one was tough... I made every mistake in the book and learned entirely on my own. That made me a pretty good teacher though. Most peoplpe will learn to ride gently after around two or three days. Then there is some skill work involved when it comes to mounting, dismounting, emergency stops, turns, etc. But those things come with tyime, practice and experience. Just don't go hitting the highway on the second week. :D

My s22 needs a lot of fixing and materials is not good in general - My Sherman S is a winner total Euforia - My new V13 is fast very very fast and extremely stable.... Range is not impressive.

I agree, someone he said the s22 is best on market..... lol wtf. After getting mine 2 days later had to send it back, was gone for 2 months, got it back had to go back after a few weeks. Had the motor swapped because pinned stator, got it back bearing pops. The bearing isn't press fit, was told if I want to fix it well require buying a new stator and hope the fits better. I cannot do 300 km without something breaking or have some problem. You have to spend thousands on extra parts. Once the board burns, and it well likely happen many report this, it's going in the garbage. Kingsong has no idea what they are doing, just look at the s19.... disgusting.
