Wow guys, honestly super impressed with the production quality of this video, I know editing videos can take a lot of time, but safe to say it definitely paid off, it looks really good As for the video itself, it's great to see an actual comparison between the two tires, this is the first in depth video I've seen of this wheel with a different tire, even moreso with the direct one on one comparison, gives us a lot more info to thoroughly understand the difference When I rode it with the Pirelli tire, it just felt like my V11, except it'd eaten nothing but chicken & rice, & had gone to the gym 7 days a week for 3 months, bigger, more power, beefier suspension, & still a great ride

Thanks Perry, so pleased to hear that some of our riders really appreciate the content we are working hard to produce. Scott has done an amazing job with increasing his production quality of his videos and is an asset to the E-RIDERZ team! I agree that the KS S22 with the street tyre (and new firmware) makes it feel more like a beefier V11 style of wheel because it still maintains its maneouverability while adding more heft and speed to the riding experience :)

Hi ! great vid! I know you made this vid a year ago, but I have one question ( cause Im swapping to the P-A80:80) do you use an inner tube, cause I recived mine and it says tubeless how does that work??

Hi Mate, Yes we used an inner tube. The tyre can work as tubeless but requires a more hardware Tube is a lot easier to get fitted

Is the Pirelli tire installed in the direction of the tread pattern - wheel rotation?
@scottsum13192 жыл бұрын
Having recently swapped over the stock CST knobby to a Michelin Pilot 80/80 on my EXN, I can honestly say the Pilot is just as capable on hard pack dirt & even grass. The diff comes into dramatic play on gravel, loose dirt & wet/damp grass. But ya otherwise, I mostly agree with ya although the turning circles are more technique than tire as I can make the knobby turn just as tight but just not as easy nor flowy. The better accel is cos of the size difference as the 80/80 is significantly lesser in circumference thus, having more mechanical advantage. Not having suspension on the EXN, I'm surprised how well the Pilot handles the road cracks & stuff but I do feel the flat thumps a lot more than the knobby. Good comparo tho

why street tire is mounted backwards? V's thread bottom should first hit the ground and now its sucking water to inside, not outside the tire. On motorbike tire is mounting backwards only on front wheel, but we need rear wheel, as its have traction

Great video. I bought this tire. Looks great. What a doosey to get it on. I tried using a 18x2.5 inner tube but I punctured it. Going to try again. Question: Did you use the same inner tube? Did you have a professional put it on? I don't think I want to puncture again.

Would love to know how well these tires resist tramlining. For me, a person who often rides under 15 mph, I can never get in that relaxed zen state when my EUC skirts to the side when lines, even paint lines designating bike lanes, are ridden over.

I think the profile of this type of street performance tyre like the Pirelli angel could offer some improvements for this. I'm going to work with Scott to get some testing done as it is certainly unsettling when you hit a painted slippery line and feel the pull. Cheers, Steve
@ngai612 жыл бұрын
@@scottdaviesyoutube I ride a V11 whose tire has a half-inch strip "bump" that runs around the middle of the tire that makes it easy for it to tramline when running parallel with lines. I did notice that neither the stock S22 off-road tire nor the Pirelli tire have this "defective" design pattern. The nimbleness of the Pirelli is impressive but the extra plushness of the off-road tire may win me over.

Thank you for the video! Are you 100% the Pirelli is set in the correct way? The watergrooves push water towards the center of the wheel now?
@e-riderz2 жыл бұрын
This tyre is the 'front' Pirelli Angel tyre for a scooter that is normally used in combination with a paired 'rear' Pirelli Angel that has the orientation going the opposite direction. Since we have only one wheel then this front tyre could be switched to the orientated as you said, so the tread allows the water to go outward from the centre. We followed the arrow on the tyre which is the reverse orientation and didn't question it until after it was already installed.

I wonder if there's a high silica tire like the Continental Conti Sport for better wet grip? Or are you confident with the Pirelli's capabilities? I thought only the Sherman could take the Angel but sweet to see the S22 as well.
@oolong22 жыл бұрын
That was a pretty flat smooth track and I doubt any offroad tire would offer much benefit. You really need to test on gravel, roots, loose branches and debris, and especially climbing. Long gravel roads are a serious pain on non-offroad tires. Also, I would guess that the Pirelli is a slight smaller diameter and probably decreases the overall diameter of the tire by an inch or so which would account for the extra torque and ability to turn.
@e-riderz2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The point of this video really wasn't to say that the offroad Jiluer doesn't offer better offroad performance, as we definitely expect it would on harder trails. The slightly smaller diameter definitely changes torque and maneouverability too. What we did want to demonstrate was how the S22 handles differently with the Pirelli Angel tyre, as many of our community riders found the Jiluer (stock) tyre did not handle/turn quite as they expected when they jumped on for a demo. So these tests performed by Scott were to show some quantification of the differences and explain how it rode differently.
