I'm sure they're all cut and sew from scratch, but I've seen some that are a dtf print on top, some that were vinyl and some that were dye subbed before they were sewn together.

When you put the design on to heat press it, do you cut out your design or leave that whole sheet on it?

If you're using sublimation you don't have to cut out the design. You can leave the whole sheet. It will only take the ink if the item you are pressing it to is polyester.

hey rich, i tried to use heat transfer warehouse for one of my dye sublimation designs (for mesh shorts) but i was told there’s no white dye sub ink; ive done a ton of research but just wanted to ask a pro, is this universal? or is there a different way i could go about it

That’s correct, dye sub is only done on light or white colors. There is no white ink.

Screen print would be your closest option to blending into the shorts, however everything else basically sits on top. You can screenprint, heat transfer, etc. Your best bet would be to get them manufactured from scratch, cut and sew where they will dye sub it first then see it together.
