for anyone wondering: the imager on ozone is like the a1stereocontrol. it can make sound wider (stereo) or more narrow (mono). with ozone you can control this for certain parts of the frequency spectrum. let's say you want to make your snare and hi-hats more stereo, but just the high end. you can use a tool like that to make just the high frequencies more wide.

an imager tells you if your stereo field is causing phase issues, there should be a line at the bottom and 2 lines making an arrow that converge at the centre point of that line. if the activity on that meter glides out past the arrow you have phase issues! hope that helps
@vlonemonobeatz2 жыл бұрын
The ozone imager is a stereo image controller. It allowds you to wide up the sounds or make it "more mono" in a lot of ways. Sometimes it can be usefull!

great tutorial man that multi limiter trick is gold 👍 with drum rack you can separate out the individual sounds to different tracks. just add a new audio track, change the input from ext. in to drum rack and then you can select whatever pad you want from the second drop down menu. repeat for each drum, then you gotta set the monitor on each audio track to in and mute the drum track. it's a bit of work but it's one way to keep all your drums in one midi track and still have them on their own tracks for more flexibility while mixing. it also allows you to bounce your drums to audio in one click without messing with the drum rack or your midi patterns.

Duplicating the kick is similar to +12dB gain; but layering it exactly in time can lead to phase cancellation; if you do so, go to very detailed mode and move it 1 or 2 ms ahead of the others so that you don't get phase cancellation on the fundamental frequencies..

it would really help if you watched some videos on mastering here and there just to pick up a couple skills , not saying you should stop using presets yet but once you're comfy enough with your new mastering knowledge you'll thank yourself. trust me cos i see you have stereo separation at the end of your mastering chain but more than likely you dont want your bass frequencies to be widened, so you probably want to use ozones stereo imager to control each frequency ranges widening independently
@LDreTheGiant4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I definitely should take the time to do that. Also forgot to mention the plugin has a button that excludes the low frequencies

@bloomingbeats13183 жыл бұрын
Yo. So when you duplicate the kick drum all you’re doing is making the sample twice as loud. You’re just turning up the volume without turning up the volume. What would have made more sense would be to take the low end out of the duplicate and distort it, then add it back into the original kick.
