Pocket fold screams are great and even Ozzy and ACDC do them, just less guttural. Pocket folds are a great way to elevate your vocals. Intensity, cleanliness, rawness, gaining volume without rupturing your vocal chords. And technically the more individual muscles you use the more unique your sound will be.

I honestly think Chester himself would have benefited from this. He did wear out his voice over the years (based on the chronology of the many live videos I've watched). I think the beauty of Chester is that he figured sooooo much of his voice through experimentation. However, you are more susceptible to wear and tear doing it that way with a rigorous touring schedule like his.

Its the pain. This is definitely one of his most emotional performances and you can tell he really was feeling the lyrics during this peformance. The face hes making right before the scream..the eyes, his face..so much pain. The question is whether he wrote the lyrics. For example breaking the habit and in the end are have lyrics by Mike. So maybe he can relate, but might not be him telling us how he felt. A lot of the sound and themes of Linkin Park are Mike. Chester gets most of the credit though.
