I've always wished Exalted got more love, both from White Wolf and gamers. In talking with people over the years, I know the main reason was the strong perception that it was a J-Pop anime only game. Who knows, maybe one day people will give it another go and see just how free form it really is.

Lunars have been all over the place thematically due to shifting editorial intent. Pre-1e: purely antagonistic NPCs who were broken by the Usurpation and threw their lot in with the Fair Folk; 1e: kept being pulled back-and-forth between "savage" fantasy akin to Conan or the old Norse sagas vs. 'realpolitik barbarians', ie. champions of the marginalised (the aforementioned editorial shifting made the 1e Lunars splat notorious for all the wrong reasons); 2e: the social engineers described in the video; 3e: nonconformists/transgression [*KEY THEME*], survivors, apex predators. 3e leans quite a bit on the "champions of the marginalised" angle; it keeps some of the stereotypical "barbarian" visual aesthetic for the cool factor, but also notes that in-universe that such term is typically used by the Realm as an expression of contempt for cultures that aren't their own or aren't useful to/subjugated by them. Found Beast a couple of years back when I went looking for more WoD systems and thought "huh this could be actually pretty interesting." Never had anyone to play it with or talk about it too for a while then found out ok the creators are supposed to be creeps and the game comes across as too like them and gave up on it. There was mention of the other paths like the path of humanity for vamps getting a video at some point?

The narration has been excellent, as always, but... it needs a pinch _moar anime._ I say this mostly because of how well the previous video's anime sections illustrated the castes being presented. Then again, I was also worried about KZbin's algorithm taking umbrage with said anime sections in the previous video, even though fair use clearly applies. This is certainly the safer approach, if not as visually appealing.
