And this courtroom scene was filled to the brim with visual gags to boot. Ask yourself: do you think shrek was ENTIRELY understandable to whatever "kids" you have in your head? More importantly: DOES THAT EVEN MATTER? Furthermore, this movie's humor is very much more attuned to early teenage humor rather than "kids". "Kid" is an enormously broad term, and people online use it for anything between the age of 0 and 18. I'm pretty sure the writing team here didn't give two flying f*cks either way.

Here's what confuses me about this scene. If you look closely at the newspapers at the end, all three have different dates. The New York Times says Sunday, July 8th, 2007. The New York Post says Wednesday, July 7th, 2004. Finally, Daily Variety says Thursday, March 3rd, 2005.
