There were so many instances where the clinic subplot was much more engaging than the main episode

Clinic plots were sometimes real life stories from doctors. That's why they were absurd yet funny.
@Arcaryon3 ай бұрын
Because at the core, this show always had two big strengths: the main cast driven underlying story developing over time and the funny or bizarre patients and scenarios all backed by House and his eccentric charisma. There is no need for a patient having yet another seizure to prove that whatever medical procure was first deployed wasn’t what was needed while the team discusses cases when you can see House deal with a man who self circumsized his own stick or a woman having affairs while being self conscious about surgery scars. The writers even acknowledge as much and often use team discussions on the case to push the story or some funny sub plot. In a way, House ( the show ) does not need too much detail on the cases because the main cast is so strong and with creative writing you end up with a piece of media that could have potentially kept going forever.

Despite the initial snark, whenever a patient finally stops lying or admits their own stupidity House usually becomes sympathetic of their pain and tries to be helpful. It's consistent with his own morality and why he's a doctor - studying and accepting the hard truth and treating it honestly.

Would be interesting for another house season, or even a movie would be cool. Like what he’s been up to since the last episode aired. Maybe a doctor in a foreign country, or doing back alley surgeries or that plus being involved in a black market organ harvesting thing. Breaking Bad type of spin to it. Maybe something sorta like what they did with Dexter. Although it was a disappointment, but least we had some closure on certain topics. If it were the early 2010’s, or before. I’d be down for something similar. But today, it can’t be done. House is to “offensive” for “modern” audiences and would flop. Hard. Now I wanna rewatch the show, thankfully I own it.

Also, a benign tumor can still kill/damage your body, if it grows enough, the weight can push onto other organs depends on its location, sometimes giving you intense pain sometimes fatal Of course this is not the case for small tumors but if it's 30 pounds it can definately happen, as no matter how much weight you are, your organs' weight and size usually stay the same, so let's say a 1 inch perimeter tumor can't push on your intestine because it is too small, but a 30 pounds tumor can even if you are 300 kilograms in weight

The conclusion of the section here from Poison S02E08 was so good. House is all about the puzzle. He cares more about knowing than helping. But, he does still care about helping, and this is a happy li'l moment from him that reinforces this. Caring about the puzzle more doesn't mean he's caring about helping too little. There are lots of jobs that give puzzles, he could do any of them. But he chose to save people's lives. It's this weird, redeeming quality for the episode-long patients that he deals with.

i just can never NOT laugh at the jelly one. LOL that has to be one of the craziest most idiotic clinic calls he had in the whole show. haha! It almost seems as if they had a separate writing team for the clinic scenes, because they were THAT good! 😀

It never made sense to me that the vegan girl that got upset at her boyfriend for eating meat was interested in House even though he isn't vegan.

No she was allergic to the copper and also had a copper IUD which was why the allergic reaction persisted. An ingredient in the tea had an adverse rection with the epinephrine making it seem like House administered too much.
