I thought the ruler idea was very good, really helped me to understand which way the forces were turning which I struggled with before this video

Hello, great video! How can I calculate this for an item of known weight except I don’t know it’s in equilibrium and the reaction force ?
@RiddhiKhan9 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!
@chooga4eva4 жыл бұрын
are reaction forces only at supports? are there reaction forces at the ends of the beam as well?
@ExamSolutions_Maths4 жыл бұрын
Another word for 'reaction force' is called 'contact force'. So you only get these forces when objects are in contact with each other. So there will be no reaction forces at the ends of the beams.

At 12:22 shouldn't the answer be in Newton METRES?

Not at all, it is a force, not a moment.

If there is no additional load and the beam’s supports are symmetrical about the centre of the beam, are the upward forces from each support equal?

Why is m(c) equal to zero? If it’s at equilibrium wouldn’t that mean m(d) is equal and opposite to m(c)? Sorry I’m new to this stuff

So is R = to the Weight acting downwards Because i jst got a question like tht but they r asking about the weight imstead of R

How did u get the 28g?
@tairenjansevanvuuren70676 ай бұрын
He skipped a step answer was -28g but if you move -28g to the 0 side -28 becomes positive 28

i know this is stupid to ask but is it possible to take moment from A/B?
@mihirshah33322 жыл бұрын
Nope. There is no fulcrum[pivot] to it wouldn't rotate.
@lght63114 жыл бұрын
what happens if one side has no weight would u include one end in ur question
@ExamSolutions_Maths4 жыл бұрын
If no weight were hanging from one end of the rod then I would still draw the rod but leave out the hanging weight as there is not one present. I hope I have answered what you asked?
