Quick question in collinear points do they have to have to be a multiple of each other ...for example in this case they equal each other but they dont have to necessarily...and share a common point or am I not understanding this properly?

Hi Annie, the reasoning shown by Stuart was one way of proving that the points are collinear (showing that the vectors RQ and QP go in the same direction and share a point which was Q in this case). Another way you could prove this would be to show the that RP =2RQ. Try working out the vector RP and you'll see thay this is the case. Hope this helps. Michael.

for part d can’t you just prove RP = 2RQ by working out RP using RO+OP
