OTL awesome vid! I cant wait to see when you break down your amazing moves. Didnt even realise you could doubleclick your own character ToT The kite tactic you mentioned at the end: One thing i found by dumb chance whilst figuring out the Ui... was while in Combat mode, i Shift-click to interact with my Torch in order to "gravgun" carry it DESPITE wielding a 2handed weapon. More importantly, i found i can still move my char once the torch is in the no-placement zone... Its made exploring dark places much much more fun and pleasant, and not requiring me to just kite enemies into brighter areas. Just drop the torch n rock! Only major downside to this is the game will only cache the original pickup coordinates. (So i like to drop it every now n then to avoid having to run back and get it.) And if u accidentally release the torch in the no-drop area it will teleport all the way back to the original pickup point.

I recommend binding the snap view button (V) to spacebar and just hold it down for simplicity's sake, it makes combat movement controls much easier.

Very high quality content! This is really helpful (you can’t imagine the satisfaction I had when I could finally beat shielded enemies with ease by stabbing their toes). I do have a question though. In your pole hammer montage videos, you can consistently hit the enemy in the head with horizontal swings. However, when I use this move, I usually hit the arm or rib. Did you make your character higher to achieve this effect? Furthermore, in your new tutorial, can you demonstrate strengths and weaknesses or neat tricks (like spear toe stab) of different weapons?

Thanks! I always choose the tallest character. Those clips are highlights of a 1000 hrs of gameplay, so it certainly doesn't always look like that. Another thing to note is that there is some amount of randomness to swing heights, but there are certain ways to swing each weapon to help influence them to do what you want. I'm gonna try to show those things in the next tutorial, but even if I do they may change it in the next update because they mess with the fighting physics just about every update.

This room doesn't seem to exist for training any more, training just plonks you into a basic fight. But I would really like a space where I can experiment with inputs without having to worry about anything else. I suppose the developer is aiming for a balance of "learning under pressure" with "learning without bad consequences." Nevertheless, this is an immensely helpful tutorial and it's already helping me get a handle on the game a lot - something to keep coming back to as I learn and improve at the beginner level. Sorry should have put a note in the video, that room is in the main arena lobby. As soon as you load into the arena hub it's through the door directly opposite the merchant. Glad the guide is helping! :)
