Nathan, where I live in South Texas, a yard of concrete is running between $120 and $158 a yard depending on the PSI of the concrete. We have numerous concrete companies which helps to keep the cost down.

It looks like you don't have any kudzu around your farm. You are very fortunate! And I bet that messed up area of concrete was caused by the corrosive effects of rabbit poo from the previous owner's multitude of bunnies.

@robertr419327 күн бұрын
Sense you mentioned that before you bought the place you are at now the former owner had rabbits in that space you are building the new work barn in. Most likely the concrete deterioration was caused by the waist from the rabbits. Their urine would have had salts and mild acid in it and if the concrete wasn't sealed properly and kept clean that would have caused the damage to the slab.

Manage the log pile! If you are purchase logs FIRST IN FIRST OUT plan if demand is there. If you are getting Tree trimmer wood, I would put date and species on each log. The entire plan has to be determined by business demand for the product BUT I would consider having a way to keep tract of logs by date IN and species. With room I would separate logs by species so if something would go wrong someone else could step in and will have a way to understand cost V inventory of your supply of logs. I know value will change with age, condition, and market value.

That flaked up concrete can be caused by salt. We once had a concrete driveway and then we had an ice storm. My dad gets the idea to use rock salt to melt some of the ice so we can get out and into the driveway. The salting went on for a couple of days and when the thaw came, then spring, the concrete started flaking, not to mention the grass dying where the snowmelt and runoff went into the yard!! He didn't do that again!! But he didn't fix the driveway either, he just sold the house and we moved.

Richard sure has mad excavator skills, a joy to watch. Your excavator was right for the job, too. The new building looks great. Congratulations. I’m sure you’ve got plenty of wood to burn but I’d do a waste oil heater versus a wood stove. A lot more efficient, an easy way to get rid of your waste oil from your truck and machinery a lot less mess in your shop for dry wood storage.

Nathan, I enjoy watching your videos even though I have no desire, or energy, to do all that you do. However, you ought to finish a few projects before you start on a log cabin. For example, the siding on the chicken house, the last door to your barn, and everything you need to do to get that new workshop usable. Just some unwanted but friendly advice. I do enjoy your camera angles and editing. I appreciate that it takes a lot of time to get the cameras set up and put these videos together. You keep making videos and I'll keep watching them. Just as long as you don't mind me chuckling when you announce a new project. Take care and I'm glad you didn't blow away from hurricane Helena.
