Had a lot of fun mining for that Shiney with Mike and Boulder Dash from I Brake for Bedrock this weekend. They have a fantastic setup and so much Gold coming out of that spot.If you need a custom Drywasher built that will handle an excavator feeding it then they will make you one and they will come out and show you how to use it too You like the video then smash that like button and if you want to see more videos on getting that Shiney just watch this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2LNlZ-he5x4j8k

In my 65 years that dry washer is the most awesome thing I've seen. I had a small Keene. We scraped it and I hauled a flatbed trailer with 20 55 gal drums. Full of water. We had two cattle troughs siphon to the lower one and ran a high banker. We recycled the water. Of course that was 30 plus years ago. Honestly. I want that in an area undisclosed close to central Nevada. Yes Jeff you know my happy place. What a great dry washer. ❤❤❤❤❤and I know where your at lol. 😂

Working in the field, recording the miner's camps, ditches, and placer mines from the gold rush, there were always people on the crew that would say things like "too bad all the gold is gone." They were baffled when I told them there was more in gold left in the Mother Lode country alone right now than had been mined by all the miners in the entire span of human history and prehistory. It would always result in a handful going out and buying a gold pan, trying their luck on weekend breaks. When I worked for the forest service, we would go through campgrounds where the majority of campers spent the entire summer there, panning gold. I spoke to one couple who told me they were retired and made all their pocket change from panning. Then again, we had a neighbor who did a term in prison for counterfitting nuggets. He would melt down old gold coins and pour the melted metal over crushed ice. A customer had their shiny new nugget assayed, and the report was that it was "coinage" alloy. Next thing our neighbor knew, the law was knocking on his door.

No one is arguing their isn't a lot of gold left...Just the reality that it harder to get to when you find it...Any active miner will quickly.explain why it's so tough to mine; The old addage of two ounces per day is as true back then as it is now...Not that it's not there, but costs so damn much to get out...His minor set up right there is pushing $400 per day in operating costs...
@theeddorian
@theeddorian 9 ай бұрын
@@brentfarvors192 Outside the valley, gold is still easily recovered in the Sierra. And, if you do the arithmetic, and use a mining 3/4 of the year weighting, your two ounces a day would potentially yield over $300, 000.00 in a year. That's certainly very optimistic, but not because gold is hard to get. Instead, it is the regulatory aspect. Placer mining in particular is a messy process, and I know of one magnificent swimming hole that was wrecked by idiots sluicing along the Cosumnes River. The swimming hole was a pot-hole in dolomite about 30 feet wide, 150 feet long, and seven feet deep. Every year the river scoured it clean. So, by the end of spring there was an awesome pool in white dolomite with no sand or gravel in it, just smooth stone. The placer operation spoiled their waste into the pothole deliberately. They didn't want us college kids and high school students using the river. Turned out there were adults including BLM people and CDFG who used the pool too. The operation lost its permit and was fined. But not enough to restore the pool.

@@theeddorian The Sierra club shut down mining in most of the gold rich areas YEARS AGO...?
@theeddorian
@theeddorian 9 ай бұрын
@@brentfarvors192Not the Sierra Club, locals, who were disgusted with would be wealthy clowns comming up from the city and trashing places we used every year. Pointing to the Sierra Club is the hallmark of a city conservative. There is a big county with many people, ranchers, cowboys, shepherds, farmers, loggers, gravel quarry workers, store owners, store workers, students, goverment employed people who all new and used public land and never trashed it. Then "ambitious" idiots from the city show up with a dredge and sluices, planning to get rich quick. They don't and the mess they made is still there decades later. The gravel quarry, whose workers I mentioned, paid for its entire operation with placer gold recovered from the gravel.

I really love it when you explain the rock system & what you are looking for, sure wish I could get you here in northwest wisconsin for some pointers on how to find Canadian glacier flour gold which all we have here, barely a picker to be found because of being so small, most of our bedrock is hundreds of feet below surface but we do have some spots where bedrock is close to surface, most of kriks & streams are very mucky, still chasing the dream tho.

I know you can see the areas where they were getting gold. Would a detector behoove you? Or just taking out some ugly ore back to check out. That place would be worth setting up a mini processing plant. Dragging all that ore out and taking it to a plant would eat up any profits . If you could take concentrates back then it could be worth it ? Finding gold is one thing putting it in your pocket is a whole different ball game !

13:28, I'd love to get some of that quartz to cut into 1/4" slabs to make tiles for the kitchen and bathroom of my house!! Maybe coating it with clear Epoxy! To leave a ultra smooth surface! Sealing the quartz. (Especially the quartz with color. definitely not gold black, red, maybe grey, some Galina would be ok! A place like this, ( 19:33 ) a light trailer, UpTo 3k lbs .with a crusher and pulverizer along with either a wet or dry sleuce with a wet or dry wash plant , that recycles all the water, the bottom of the trailer being a water tight tub! Divided with a sump the output of the wash plant surrounded , or desperate by expanded metal about 12"-16" tall two rows of it. With about 6"-8" between them. When in use the dividers/filters having something like cheese cloth, burlap, or both in place to hold coarse sand and possibly charcoal and fine gravel. To separate the mud and silt from the water! Possibly use another sheet metal divider to funnel the water into a spinning drum with a cover the cover holding the solids about 16"-18" diameter and 4" tall. Spinning about 3000 to 5500 rpm or 1500-4000 rpm ! It can also be used after words to collect the fine heavies! Fill with concentrates while spinning, and keep running the clean water through it. Use a ramped incert with grooves to hold gold and black sand ! So after running it! It should hold only gold, lead, black sand only the heaviest stuff! Build a pulverizer / hammer mill that spins the hammers in opposite directions possibly two sets on two shafts . Requiring them to be trimmed. Have it operating similar to a shredder the hammers spinning around passing between each other! With only about 1/8"-1/4" around them and about the same distance between the hammers and the case! Half of the bottom and part of the end being the discharge! Ore like white quartz should come out looking flour or baby powder if you choose! Use a 24" drum 6" deep. With 3 sets of 2-3 hammers on a 2" or 3"'shaft with two sets of bearings 4"apart atleast. Then a 10 HP to 16 hp engine! Possibly spinning at 2:1 underdrive. So 3,,k rpm engine would be 1500 also add a 50 lb 30" flywheel , requiring the mill to get UpTo speed first! Using a go-kart style clutch with the feed taking the rocks and slamming them into the oncoming hammer! So s 2k rpm hammer the rocks will feel like it's being hit by a 4k rpm spinning hammer it being a ,1.5"-2" wide actual ball peen hammer looking hammer with 6-9 per shaft! And the Hopper having a sliding gate and a lid. To allow the fill portal to be filled. The gate holding the ore. The lid to be closed. then the gate to be slowly slid open! It basically working like a blender for rocks! It can spit out a smoothy if you want, or a fine to coarse sand! Actual baby powder from ore! It should be capable of crushing up black sand to possibly recover more gold! Possibly add a small disc mill to the side! To actually get ultra fine micron sized powder! Fine enough to mix with water. Do fine just mix with water and any gold will fall to the bottom!! The sand will be required to fit between the disc with a .005-.007" gap to make it to the discharge!!.. with it adjustable from .001" to about .050" depending on wear. Two 1" thick disc one spinning . One having a ,2" offset inlet at the top. The disc having ,three 2" holes about 1/2"',deep! The edges of the holes shear the grains as the disc spins the edges of the holes being hard face welded and ground smooth as they wear! With them working like scissors the gap between adjusted to just above .001""using shims in the shaft thrust bearing ! Possibly using a large nut on the shaft pushing against the thrust/Torrington bearing!. With a feeler gauge between the two disc!

Uh could you imagine that machine in AFRICA? You personally could be producing 100s of thousands of dollars a week on those Gold rich deposit areas.

Hmmmm,most gold mining I’ve seen in Africa tends to be in the more tropical/jungle areas. Don’t think I’ve seen much in the dry arid areas..

Ethiopia, Sudan , Eritrea, Australia and on and on. If you check out a map it’s pretty easy to determine where the arid regions are, they are plentiful.

Last time I hiked up that particular canyon was 1984 and it about killed me then! Not sure how far the adit goes in because we didn't bring a flashlight and had no desire to hike up that hill again to check it out. I think this is part of the complex in the canyon directly to the North. (The road into the North canyon bares the name of this complex} It's defiantly worth the drive and the short hike. There are some very cool paths that connect the canyons with each other. The last complex you surveyed was barred up 20+ years ago. The adit runs in about 400' and hits a vertical shaft. There is one level 30' below the main and water about 30' down from the second level. Not sure if there is a level below the water or not... (The road in this canyon bares the name of this complex.) There used to be dozens of open adit's in the area along with all the artifacts associated with these mines. Unfortunately the Bureau of Land Management came through and ruined the fun. Great video as usual Jeff !

My guess is the hills outside of lake Havasu probably the Hualapai mountains. This could be the case of where anything under 2 oz/ton was used as fill as it was too expensive to haul/values...
