Lets not forget that the excavator is so flexible at doing different types of work, that it's hard to beat at small projects like this. Once you need to remove large areas of pavement / concrete slabs, you'd probably go grab a pavement milling machine anyways that they also use in roadworks. But they're pretty specialised machines, so it's limited what you can use them for ... again, equipment costs is important. Anyways, enjoyed watching you tear some concrete apart, thanks for sharing. :)

Why do you break it up after its in the pile? Why not leave it in big chunks so you can haul it easier?

That came up nice the concrete placer will be happy as a pig in shit there isn't much prep needed to place the new driveway. Lucky there was no bar or mesh gotta love it when people are cheap and they skimp on re-inforcing lol.
