Hi Phill, happy new year. Great review on the nail gun, look's like your very happy with it, I have used my brothers battery nail gun he got from Aldi a Ferrex . I do have a Parkside mains powered nail gun it's ok not as powerful as the Ferrex battery nail gun. As always a good and honest video, Take care👍

I’ve got this and it jams literally every other nail with 50mm nails. 40mm seem fine
@PhillWyattProjects
@PhillWyattProjects 2 ай бұрын
Yea I have experienced jams quite often. I usually ignore it and fire again and that seems to work most of the time. I am not sure weather it has something to do with technique or the brand of brads though to be honest.
@Jason-Faraday
@Jason-Faraday 2 ай бұрын
@@PhillWyattProjects I’ve got tax wise 40 and 50. 40 are fine and never jam but the 50 are unusable. I’m lucky if I get one nail out before it jams and i have to take it apart to unjam it. Luckily everything I use it for can be done with 40mm

I have it as well, fired over 500 nails today with it, not a single jam. It has jammed before, but a hand full of times, for the money I'm well impressed with it.

I wonder if they are similar to the ferrex nailer. Looks good. Be an absolute bonus if ferrex battery or Parkside battery fitted. I have the same corded nailer and agree that sometimes to it doesn't have the oomph you need.
@PhillWyattProjects

It does look similar although I don't know about battery compatibility from other brands. I have quite a few Excel cordless tools at the moment so I always have spare batteries on hand.

Thanks Phill, another Excel-lent review, that looks like a handy bit of kit, seemed to work very well, did you have any issues with jamming, I presume not as not mentioned ? As you say the power settings are very much down to personal experience and trial and error, even the hard/softwood names can be misleading an old weathered resinous softwood fencepost can be considerably harder than a bit of generic "hardwood" salvaged window frame !
@PhillWyattProjects
@PhillWyattProjects Жыл бұрын
Cheers Andy good points 👍🏻 I haven't had a problem with jamming. Although if a nail does get properly jammed, you can remove part of the front nozzle to remove the jam. It seems quite straightforward.

I really can't say. I have experienced frequent jams with mine although I am not sure weather it has something to do with technique when firing the gun. I haven't used nails from screwfix although I have used other brands which do work with this gun.

PHIL I WANT YOUR HONNEST REVIEW ON THIS PLEASE IS ANY GOOD FOR 3/4 FENCE BOARDS I BE USING 50MM BRAD NAILS I HAVE JUST SEEN THE REVIEWS ON EBAY AND I WAS IMPRESSED COMPARED TO THE CORDLESS CORDLESS LUMBERJACK NAIL GUN 🔫 I CAN GET IT FOR £102 and £40 5amp battery but I carnt find a storage box phill
@PhillWyattProjects
@PhillWyattProjects 5 ай бұрын
Apparently it will fire 50mm brads although the most I have used in it is 40mm brads. I was using it to attach pallet boards to a shed panel. I would say because the brads are quite thin, I would always recommend adding some additional screws to prevent boards from potentially lifting over time. They are not thicker ring nails only thin brads so they are more for fixing temporarily that a long lasting solution. I hope this helps. Yea I don't think you can get a storage case for this gun.

You swapped to a 5ah battery for the 40mm Brad's. Did the 2ah battery not have enough power?
@PhillWyattProjects
@PhillWyattProjects Жыл бұрын
It made no difference. Both batteries worked the same. I just grabbed the 5ah because the 2ah was in another tool at the time. Both batteries are 18v and perform the same in terms of power in my experience.
