I would have thought the software I use in this video would do it, but maybe check their website to be sure. XLA files are typically older files and therefore have less security. You could also try the free software shown on this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/emK4lqVjhpJ0f7s

As far as I'm aware there is no free way of removing file open passwords on xlsx files without buying software so I thought I'd review some options - this is one of the best I've seen. I have a few other videos showing how to remove various types of passwords for free where it's possible, plus well over 100 other videos - all free stuff. Hope you find something you like. p.s. If you do know how to remove file open passwords on modern excel files for free, I definitely want to hear how
