Excel GROUPBY and PIVOTBY plus checkboxes - October 2024 update part 1

I have looked up the last argument a while ago. It's about how rows are sorted when there are multiple arguments.Say you have both the product and the color and then sort them in descending order by the values column. The hierarchy option would keep all the bikes together and the table option sorts by the value alone. I am in love with the function. Best thing since FILTER to happen to Excel.

From the GROUPBY Beta help (not online yet): field_relationship Specifies the relationship fields when multiple columns are provided to row_fields. The possible values are: 0: Hierarchy (default) 1: Table With a Hierarchy field relationship (0), sorting of later field columns takes into account the hierarchy of earlier columns. With a Table field relationship (1), sorting of each field column is done independantly. Subtotals are not supported as they rely on the data having a hierarchy. (That's Microsoft's spelling of independently!)

I really enjoy dynamic arrays, but I can't seem to make them play nice with power query. I've tried to give the spilled range a name in the name manager (add the # to the upper left cell reference) and within the workbook that works fine. But when setting up a power query to that workbook, that defined name doesn't show up in the items to choose from. Would be "awesome" if that becomes possible.

Semi annual gets updates in January/Feb and July/Aug

It's available for people on the current channel. Anyone on the monthly channel will get it next month. But if your company is cautious (like a lot of my clients) and are on the semiannual channel, it can take quite a while till you get it. Hopefully you'll get these functions soon. They're absolutely awesome.
