What do you think of this complex dent? Do you think I was still able to SAVE this damage and get excellent results?
@AGDentRepair
@AGDentRepair 5 жыл бұрын
Yes. I highly doubt the glue pulling on that would've stretched it any worse than it was already. That's not a dent I would've expected good results with by glue pulling without rounding that sucker out three times the size it already was.

Thanks for sharing your process with us Steve and for your honesty about what went wrong and how you corrected it! We all make mistakes or mis-judgments, and every dent has its own challenge. Great video!

Yes. So was I. 🙂 This customer was a referral from one of my good body shops. They told him that if I could be done, then I was the one to repair it.

hello, how many centimeters is the width of the stripes and what is the distance between the stripes I was referring to the stripes on the lamp, thank you
@exceldentremoval

The stripes used on the light cover is a 1/4 inch, 6.35 mm, pinstripe. I think I spaced them about 1 inch, 25.4 mm, apart.

Steve, nice work and great video. Your use of long form is spot on and really well done. Starting PDR long before glue was around does make me cringe when I see it used on very accessible dent. But I have also tried pulling on a stretched dent too many times.

Thank you! I appreciate the great comments. Yes. I had been doing PDR for a few years before glue pulling was even available. Then it still took me a few years to even start using it. Seeing what others are doing with it and what can be repaired is amazing.

With this damage I just didn’t realize the total extent of the damage when I started this repair. The body line/edge of the damage had a lot more to do with how this was “held together”. If you watch in the beginning of the video I do mention pushing the dent out first. I just had decided to try to pull some out which resulted in the different title and structure of this video.

Good save on a very difficult dent! Thanks for sharing! What tools did you use?
@exceldentremoval
@exceldentremoval 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I used a couple hand tools from A1 PDR Tool and one of their small PDR rods with some Tesa tape. Shane Jacks blending hammer and the Edgy Tools “Peg Leg” knockdown tip. Some of these should be listed on my amazon shop link down in the description.

did you first learn on your own or went to school right away? that look very hard with all the metal moving so easy.how do you charge if the dent becomes much larger or jjob takes longer? thank you

I had one on one training from a tech that had 10 years experience in paintless dent repair and was a body man before that. Yes, the larger and more complex the damage, does increase the cost to repair.

Nice save . I bet that one had you nervous. How long did it take ?
@exceldentremoval
@exceldentremoval 5 жыл бұрын
+straight lines Yep. About half way through the repair you have to wonder If it’s time to let it go or continue and get it completed. I don’t remember how long the actual repair time took. Probably around 4 hours of just working on the dent.

Nice saving but learn from your mistake never glue pull a or push a stretched dent with soft tip in your life ever cause it will oil canning the metal your are lucky because the dent near to the body line Gives support to metal if it was on wide open area its gonna be big problem

+black soul Yes. I should have gone with my “gut” on this one and pushed up the lows first and brought up the edge. I under estimated how severe the damage was. Always learning 👍

Very good advice special for stretched dent, if you have to glue pull donot try too hard. just take time and slow one by one steps i thought.
