Hi Tony, I bought mine in December 2023, and I will pick it up and use it in January 2024. The website was still mentioning the transportation card at the time of purchasing. There is not any words or phrase mentioning the transportation on the proof of purchase (voucher). Do you think they will honour the transportation deal?

Hi Matt, yes, the Modernista Card includes the basic Blue ticket. You cannot upgrade it. The selling point of the card is, you get the basic ticket at a fraction of the price you would pay at the ticket office. All the best!

You should also post a video of Barcelona on tips or warnings for tourist for thefts and robberies. I watched several of your previous videos related to your Barcelona videos prior to our visit but never came up with this useful videos especially for foreign tourists. I was in Barcelona week ago and just came back today unfortunately my family was robbed with a watch in the subway station. The thefts are very organize, they were speaking Arabic, mixed with young and old and they have a female spotter as well. One guys snatched the watch that I was wearing. We are from Canada and this unforeseen experience is very sad for your country as less and less tourists will visit in the future if this rampant incidents go unresolved. Thanks

Hello, we truly feel your pain - we understand your frustration. In actual fact, petty thief and pickpocketing are rife all throughout the big European capitals, Rome or Paris are not that different from Barcelona. Also, there's been a decline in that type of crime in Barcelona this summer, and in spite of the prevalence of the robberies, tourists keep flocking to Barcelona in larger numbers every year. In our Spanish channel we have a video with specific safety advice, we intend to do one for this channel whenever we get the chance.

Hi Calvin, we are not 100% whether you get two cards or just the one with attractions and transport in the same card. If you get two cards, we assume the starting time for each of them will be independent from each other. Double-check at the airport tourist office when you exchange the voucher for the card.

The City Go pass, rather than including plain tickets for the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, it includes guided visits, thus increasing the cost of the pass. As always, you need to do your maths, select the places you would really like to visit and check what the savings would be with either card.

Hello Gabor, if Art Nouveau is your thing, then in Barcelona you will be amazed. It's not just the famous houses, the collection of Art Nouveau architecture is mind-blowing. The card is only valid during the standard visiting hours. La Pedrera has a special ticket for night visits and as far as we know, there are no regular night visits to the hospital. All the best!

As the Card Modernista doesn't allow us to do advance booking, we're afraid that some famous attractions (such as Park Guell, Casa Milla, Casa Batllo, etc.) will be full during our visits. So do you recommend us to buy entrance tickets separately for that famous attractions or any other places in order to do advance booking? Hello Suchaya. You make an important point, there's likely to be quite a lot of tourists in Barcelona during the Holy Week so advance booking of very popular attractions might be a good idea. The Barcelona Card Modernista doesn't allow for that advance purchase. We would say the critical places are Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, and the Palau de la Música Catalana as well. All the best.

Hi, the card gives you massive discounts but doesn't give you the privilege of choosing a visiting time. You go to all the attractions, join the queue (if there's any) and visit them. All the best.

Hola Tony! Thanks for the great video yet again. Your videos are extremely helpful! After checking your video and comparing the prices, we decided that the new Barcelona Card Modernista may not work for us (unlike many other tourists) because: 1) I have read a lot about how great the 50 minutes guided tour to the Palau de la Música Catalana is and you basically confirmed it :) 2) Casa Milà now has a combined ticket with Sant Pau (32 euros) and the Palau has a combined ticket with Sant Pau (24 euros). Both allow you to choose a time but neither includes guided tours, which is fine for us other than the Palau of course. 3) Some tourists like us would only prefer to enter a few of the places that are included in the card. Plus, we are going to other places not included in the card like the ajuntament (free entry), the Picasso Museum, and Fundació Joao Miró (which is free if you are an ICOM card holder). MNAC is also free if you are an ICOM card holder. So…. 4) Barcelona appears to be a super walkable city (will confirm later in the year lol) and I personally love walking a lot when abroad and I also love spending hours in different suburbs in between of a visit to this and that monument. I would only picture myself catching public transport like no more than 10 times in total for our time in Barcelona. So, the T-Casual or even the T-Usual(?) (Can’t remember the name well) would work. Overall, the difference between booking some of the places plus the T-Casual is very minimal. In fact, it is a little cheaper for us to get the T-Casual and get the combined and non-combined tickets for the monuments we want to. Odd! Thanks again

Hello there, we always like to insist on the fact that each traveller must make their own decisions based on their specific circumstances, like you have done. Barcelona is a walkable city and if you stay right in the heart of the city you will reduce the use of public transport. But if you stay far from the centre then a travel pass becomes an interesting proposition.

You mentioned the card's transport option is the Hello Barcelona transit pass. So, specific for the airport, that means only metro, not the Aerobus, right? We land on day 1 and will be jetlagged, so was thinking of using the pass on day 2-4 of our trip, then fly out day 5 morning. So I would be best to NOT activate the transport pass either until day 2, and instead just pay roundtrip for airport separately, I think? Our hotel is about 3 min walk from the train station, and 7 min walk from Aerobus stop... but we land in Terminal 1 so will need to go to Terminal 2 for the train. For the train, if we have the 72-hr Modernista card, the 10-trip T-casual seems like too much (since we only only use it for day 1 and day 5 to airport, since days 2-4 would be covered by the Modernista's transport voucher), and you mentioned that just 1 trip costs a lot more! And I have to factor in time for the shuttle from T1 to T2. (Oh, I just remembered the T-Familar.. maybe I'll get that. My wife and I, round trip airport, is already 4 out of the 8 tickets!)

Hi Douglas, as explained on the video, you show up any time and get in. We also mention what to do in the case of the most visited attractions, namely the Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Most attractions sell time entries, but they still sell tickets for those arriving with no ticket reservation.

The only two attractions with limited capacity in Barcelona are the Sagrada Familia and the Park Güell. In the other attractions, you might have to wait, but you'll get in. Get to the Casa Batlló and La Pedrera first thing in the morning to avoid the queues. Be aware the rules of the card are about to change in 2024, if you buy it now you will be able to use it with the current rules until the end of February.

The total general admission of the ten included attractions is 165 euros. So the Barcelona Modernista Card was a good deal when transportation (Hola Barcelona Travel Card €23/72hrs; €30/96hrs; €37/120hrs) was included. Without transportation, the potential saving is diminished, especially you will probably skip one or two attractions since Barcelona has so many things to see and do beyond those ten attractions.🤓🤔

I just went to the official page to buy it. The prices went sky-high! 130/140/145 € 🥶😵 But if you buy it online they are 104/112/116 € ! So there's no so much difference with the prices in the video (90/100/110).
