Excerpts: Heracles 12 Labours 3. The Golden Hind

In this short extract from our full length video on the 12 Labours of Heracles, we learn that the Golden Hind of Ceryneia was the fastest animal on earth, faster than a shot arrow and so impossible to chase. It was not dangerous, but because it was sacred to the goddess Artemis, capturing it would ensure the Olympian Goddesses wrath and she would kill you. So this task was given to Heracles as a “damned if you do - and damned if you don’t” scenario. If he failed to capture the Hind he would fail his penance. If he did capture it, Artemis would kill him. Quick thinking and swallowing his pride helps our hero win the day - and earn a couple of new supporters among the Olympian Gods.
