I made an Atla Palani, Nest Tender Deck that uses Mirror Entity as a pay 0, everything dies, but it dies with all creature types thus everything, including Atla Palani triggers her "Whenever an Egg you control dies..." ability and i get to flood the board with massive creatures.

Francisco Torres if you wanna see that in a combo I advise you to watch the most recent lightning round video on the channel playing with power mtg. If you just wanna know how the combo works you use the ability of mirror entity like 100 000 times before the first one resolves you give atla +1 +1 and then you cretures die, atla triggers the knew creatures die you get another trigger,... eventually you get purpheros and know every time a creature enters you deal damage to your opponents, eventually you will get an eldrazi titan and your graveyard will shuffle into your library.

I used to run an Oloro deck that had both Lich’s Mastery and Transcendence in it! I always loved it when someone would swing at me and all of a sudden I’m drawing a ton, gaining a ton of life, and then paying 1 off of Oloro to draw even more.

PhazonOmega you can use cards like Donate, Puca’s Mischief, and Sky Swallower to either give your opponents things or trade them, in case of sky swallower you want to float the mana and then use something like Bring to Light or other destroy all enchantments preferably instants

Same. Tried some combination with Exquisite Archangel where I'd play Archangel to keep myself safe from an enchantment wipe, or possibly I'd use some effect to kill myself to draw a ton of cards from archangels life gain effect. But I haven't been able to consistently get some way to keep mastery sage before an enchantment wipe killed me

After seeing this video I'm thinking of putting it into my Varina, Lich Queen deck, her looting ability also gains you life so you draw cards off the Mastery and you get to discard cards with her trigger, so exiling cards from the graveyard if you lose life won't be too hard to pull of, but of course you can prevent that by running an okay amount of board control (I love vengeful pharaoh in my varina deck), you can always use boardwipes since you can run zombie apocalypse which brings you back all of your zombies (and completely hoses humans).

@@LazerpawX7 I found there is 3 ways you can build this type of deck. The best imo is life gain style with stuff like Serra ascendant. 2 is enchantment based deck to keep your lich enchantments safe. 3 is a stifle theme added to one of the first 2. so once the you lose the game effect is on the stack you stifle it somehow with one of the many stifle effects you can run in blue

@@nikolalikic5280 I think in a verina deck it could probably be really good you would just need an academy rector or some kind of tutor to get the card somehow in your hand or on the battlefield. you would need some way to not lose the game of that card so maybe a couple of stifle effects such as disallow or OG stifle would be good but not too many.

I did a build using Lich's Mastery and Neverending Torment with Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath as my Commander. I would build up a massive handsize, use Ob Nixilis' final ability to sac a big ass creature to draw cards and gain that much life. That would combo off Lich's Mastery to draw me double the cards. I would deck myself, but thanks to Lich's Mastery I couldn't lose the game. I would then cast Neverending Torment while holding like 90% of my deck in my hand and remove the other players' libraries from the game. You kind of need to build a little pillow forty because of how much setup this takes, but it was so much fun to watch them all as I erased all their answers from their libraries one player at a time.

Interestingly, Sundial of the Infinite works amazing with Song of Creation. You basically get to keep your whole hand and do it all again on your next turn (or your opponents if you got Vedalken Orrery). Heck I might actually brew up a deck list for it later because this is sounding more fun as I write it.

I have actually been working on a morophon "tribal" tribal deck as I want to call it. Arcane adaptation, mirror entity, a bunch or lords, didgeridoo, all the stuff. It should be fun. A better way to make mirror entity the only hidden commander would be to make the commander sliver overlord as a tutor. Ameboid changeling is also brutal in that deck

I have a Temur secret commander deck built around the 4G instant Reach of Branches. It creates a 2/5 Treefolk Shaman and can be brought back from the graveyard to hand when a forest enters the battlefield under your control. The deck plays almost 50 lands, a bunch of cost reducers, a couple of tutors, and a bunch of ways to play extra lands each turn. Song of Creation will slot perfectly into that deck. An extra land each turn is amazing and even if I only draw a land, I can get back reach of Branches and start playing it to draw cards. Also having Thrasios and Kraum as the commanders makes sure I can find spells to play

For those wanting to build around the Citadel, the commander that works best in my group is Glissa the Traitor. A lot of low to the ground to mid game artifacts that you can then pitch to the citadel for damage. Black has tutor, cardraw, and lifegain, Green has mass ramp and more life gain. It's a fun deck.

My third or fourth commander deck ever was Tajic, Legion's Edge, except it was really Skirk Fire Marshal. Lots of damage doublers, untap effects, damage prevention to protect me and my creatures, and a few other "everyone gets some damage!" spells, and, of course, a few tutors and goblin token engines. It turned out to be one of my best decks, since even without Skirk, I had a deck full of protection, board wipes, and token generators.

I have a Xira Arien deck that is RBG Storm with Bolas' Citadel and Aetherflux Reservoir. Most of my spells are green sorceries that keep me level or plus on life to keep the chain going

I did this with Greater Good. It works very nicely with the Dredge mechanic because you can replace some of the draws with dredging, and then discard your dredgers back into the graveyard. This helps grow creatures like Lord of Extinction, Nighthowler, or Lhurgoyf, making them huge and then allowing you to sacrifice them to Greater Good to draw a ton of cards. The Commander for the deck is Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, since he also has an ability that makes him scale with the number of creatures in graveyards, and he also serves as a win condition by sacrificing your big guys to drain your opponents.

One thing to note, things like mischievous poltergeist, soul channeling, and all the other cards like it is that you're paying a cost to activate the ability, which can't be responded to. So you can let the trigger for axis of mortality go onto the stack, then pay your life total. Not too big a difference, but could help sometimes with effects that deal damage at the end of the turn.

One mechanic that is amazing with Song of Creation is Retrace. So if you have something like a Flame Jab, you can still cast a spell even if you flood out drawing only lands, this will trigger Song of Creation and you can keep doing this over and over, drawing your whole deck and winning with something like a Laboratory Maniac or Thassa's Oracle effect.

I saw Stuffy Doll in the thumbnail and got really excited. I have a Blue Stuffy Doll clone deck that my friends HATE going up against. I pair it with Mechanized Production so I get a copy every upkeep. Once I get 8 copies, I win. Pair that with a bunch of cards like Clone and Infinate Reflection and all will cower before your army of 0/1 Uno Reverse Cards!!!

Seems like one of the best things to have for a song of creation deck is on-board things you can "cash in" for card draw, in case you draw a land for turn and then can't do anything. Top-card manipulation like scatting would work great as well!

I have a Kroxa Stax deck that runs Bolas' s Citadel. Sensei's Divining Top will allow you to draw your lands to hand at the cost of 1 life each making it an amazing combination of cards. I run exquisite blood and bloodchief ascension in the deck and then run things like Pox and Fraying Omnipotence. When your opponents lose life, discard or lose a permanent, you gain life, which you can then spend to cast more things that make your opponents do those things more. It's funny because no one else on EDHrec took Kroxa a stax direction, but in my playgroup everyone thinks of him as a stax commander.

A hot new card Rielle, the Everwise is a perfect combo with The Song of Creation since it basically negates the end of turn effect and lets you keep a fresh set of cards. She also powers herself up by pitching all of your instants and sorceries that were drawn from Song.

Hi Mitch! Thanks for your latest vid...great idea and I'm sure that there is value there for a series. I run Bolas's Citadel in my Shirei deck and it is usually the game winner...the other key card that I use with it is Altar of Dementia as it enables me to mill myself as all my sac creatures are one power...which enables me to mill that pesky land and get to the good stuff... My entry for a secret commander is Omniscience...I run it in my Tuvasa deck and while I run various game winning combos that don't need it (Enchanted Evening and Calming Verse/Aura Thief...Solemnity and Decree of Silence...Enduring Ideal and Paradox Haze being three) it is the utter gas for my usual method of winning which is Enchantressing my way into a Lab Man or Jace win through drawing my entire deck...I LOVE it!

​@@fsfreturns5242 My decklist is far from being optimized, but I have a lot of fun playing with it. I believe Oloro works best in a super friends deck or an enchantress shell. My take on it is a Pillow Fort deck, high amount of enchantments, high amount of wraths and removal spells. I try ensure I have political influence to be able to strike deals. Main protection I have for it are the regular suspects: Disdainful Stroke, Counterspell, Negate, and such. I try to play Lichs Mastery in the late game, once several wraths have been used up and people have low resources to ensure the least amount of answers to it. Also if I have Lichs Mastery out, people believe they will be able to kill me at any given time, which is true, but you draw so many cards that it is hard not to have a counter or a removal spell.

@@luiscordoba8300 I see... I looked up the available vampires, but there are only a handful of them in blue colors. As for card draw potential, I'll consider using Shabraz (the legendary shark from the Jeskai C20 deck) since it lets you draw your entire deck if Lich's Mastery is out (you gain life, draw that many cards. The shark makes you gain life whenever you draw a card. You do the math =P) Having "no maximum hand size" options would be a must though in this case.

Also good with Bola's Citadel is Sensei's Divining top. For just one life you can get a card you don't want to play off the top of your library and into your hand so you can keep drilling. Clears land nicely, as well as anything else that's not useful and more than one CMC.

I built my sidisi deck around Havengul lich. Everyone always thinks it's just about generating zombie tokens but it's just there as a shield. Plus you can use his ability as an instant and on any creature in any graveyard.

My Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis deck is built around Wild Pair. I don't really have a good way to tutor for it (Enlightened Tutor isn't really budget), but every creature in the deck has several others that it can search for. The deck works fine without it, but it's really fun when I manage to draw Wild Pair.

Loving this video! There are two that I've been dying to build around, but haven't found the right load out. They're not the most flashy, but the biggest one is Vigor. It's a card I've used for years, and makes such a huge impact when it hits the board. The other has to be Grasping Giant. I love the idea of forcing all available creatures to block it and it functioning as a board wipe with a card like Predatory Rampage!

May be a bit pricey, but Lich's Mastery, Solitary Confinement, and a series of life gain engines make for a mean immortality engine. It's particularly nice in an Oloro enchantments deck. Though I am still working on a win con outside the usual ones like felidar sovereign.

I run the stuffy doll combo in my Oketra the True deck and it’s brutal. It’s essentially hey I can’t lose life on any indestructible creature so it’s a two card combo with Oketra, Heliod, or stuffy doll. Pariahs shield does the same thing as an artifact though it’s high CMC makes it less reliable in mono white, I have a friend who uses it in a colorless Eldrozi deck.

Wild Pair is definitely a fun build around. Jim from Spike feeders has a great build of power/toughness of 7. I use it to great effect with derevi pulling value straight out of the deck.

The most interesting deck I did was a Saskia suicide deck. The idea was to get yourself to 0 life, keeping yourself alive with things like phyrexian unlife etc, then trading your life total away with soul conduit, axis of mortality or killing everybody outright with repay in kind. It didn't go off very often, but oh boy when it goes off it's hilarious xD

​@@erinlada6617 I've considered that one, however there are some very nice combinations with red. For instance treasonous ogre with soul conduit. Pay 18 life to play it and another 18 to activate it. That leaves your opponent with 4 life. Another great one is Heartless Hidetsugu, give that bad boy infect and everybody dies. Well everybody except for you since you have loss prevention cards in your deck such as platinum angel. Green is in there mostly for mana fixing.

One of my old decks used Lich's mastery to survive with 0 or less life, and Axis of Mortality to force instant losses on people. Also got to draw tons of cards, and generally won right then and there, as long as the deck got to play to six lands.

Star of Extinction works really well with Stuffy Doll, and it has incorporated land-hate too. I use other creatures along with it like Mogg Goblin which says whenever its dealt damage, it deals it to other players instead. Basically, I made my entire deck and myself a nuclear deterrent. Boardwipes permitting, I am immune to taking damage unless they want to go down with me.

I actually used Mirror Entity with Atla Palani right before a board wipe to generate a ton of free creatures. At instant speed I used Mirror Entity to give all of my creatures all creature types (including egg) and then when they were all wiped with a wrath, they triggered Atla's ability and I got a bunch of free creatures. It was awesome

Mirror Entity with Atla Palani and warstorm surge can be absurd. Have a bunch of creatures out, pay 0 into x, all of your stuff dies but it’s all technically eggs, ping to death with warstorm triggers. My Atla deck is wurm tribal, feels great with this combo into impervious greatwurm. Mirror Entity is also great in AtogAtog

I built general Kudro with rebels as my tribe since they were mostly all errata'd to human rebels and i use mirror entity as a finisher after I tutor out all my rebels and they get the anthem effect from kudro as well. Still have a ton of love for mercadian masques standard.

I play bolas's citadel in Ghave with Daxos, slimefoot and muldervine reclamation. I draw the lands off the top and gain life for playing the top of the deck, and the more I play the bigger the advantage gets

What we do with these cases is either: we allow the enchantment, non legendary creature or artifact to be our commander (with some in house bans to not make things too crazy), or we design a card that has the abilities of the enchantment or artifact, and proxy it

Workaround for Song of Creation: Becoming the Monarch draws a card at the end of your turn. So you decide which resolves first so Song of Creation triggers; you discard all your cards, Monarch triggers you draw 1. Ezpz.

I have a deck built around hive mind. Admittedly, oathbreaker so I can use enlightened tutor to get to it. I call it my Oprah deck.. you get a spell, and you get a spell! Anyway, the idea is give me and my stuff hexproof. Then cast interesting spells, often ones that steal opponents kill spells, that everyone gets a copy of and can't target me with. The funniest one is talent of the telepath, which exiles 7 cards, and you can cast one or two sorceries or instants from them... Which everyone gets a copy of because it's a cast trigger. And then everyone else gets cranky about being targeted and grudges occur. It's funny that it actually gets more powerful the more opponents you have.

Once I was the last survivor on the table with an enchantment "tribal" that really doesn't have ways to kill off people with a gigantic amount of life and...the other player left was playing a Karlov deck...and had 56 life while I got ten life and Gisela (the 5/5 one that dlubles damage). End of his turn, I cast Axis of immortality in instant speed with that land that gives things flash. My turn, we exchange life, I swing with Gisela. The end. Not gonna lie, it felt really good. Probably the best/crazyest endgame I've ever had hahaha

With song of creation, run 30 persistent petitioners and 15 mana dorks and intruder alarm.... just keep dropping those wizards who then untapped your wizards so you can tap again and draw more and untap and tap and untap and so on until no one has any cards left in their library and you don’t have any friends...

As far as Song of Creation goes, I play both Recycle and Null Profusion in my Teneb, the Harvester deck. Those cards are NUTS, and the drawbacks are easily overcome with Thought Vessel and Reliquary Tower, even though the 2-card hand size is still not that bad even without those.

I run the citadel in my Korvold and Alela edh decks. I have yet to lose a game with either deck when I get the citadel in play. Woe strider is good for a sac outlet and great for scrying the land off the top of ur library.

I use Mirror Entity in my sliver EDH, Sliver Queen and Mana Echoes. Just having M.E. or Queen hit the battlefield while Mana Echoes is already there webs you the win (as long as one of them can attack and your opponent is open).

I used to play the stuffy doll combo. But better than pariah is pariah shield, same effect but equipment. Also look up volcano hellion. When Volcano Hellion enters the battlefield, it deals an amount of damage of your choice to you and target creature. The damage can't be prevented.

I actually have a reaper king tribal/changeling deck with mirror entity as my hidden commander, it is a pretty fun deck to play especially when I can get some lords out that give hexproof or indestructible and I can pay 0 to protect basically all of my creatures. Lord of the unreal is a very useful card with mirror entity because hexproof and +1/+1 applies to itself too. Paying 10 to make all creatures base 10/10 is a good win condition too

Mirror Entity works really well with Atla Palani and any sort of pump effect (e.g. Giant Growth) by making everything else on your board 0/0 eggs.

I have an atla palani menagerie deck of big scary naya and eldrazi. Most people don't realize the entity is the scariest creature of the deck. one mana to turn everything into eggs. Sac creatures until you find the one you need if you want to be fair, altar of dementia to ruin everyone's day, goblin bombardment to kill everyone, play loop the terastidon, or just let purph watch as you cycle through your deck. As long as someone doesn't pinpoint exile Kozilek or ulamog to recycle your graveyard you just loop in stupid ways.

Song of Creation would be nasty in The First Sliver, especially if you use something like Glimpse of Nature or Tome of the Guildpact and Morophon. Not only are you casting your Slivers basically for free but you're also drawing a ton of cards too.

I run song of creation in my Omnath, Locus of Roil which ignore the whole elemental tribal aspect and is instead just land matters card draw non-sense. It’s my pet deck and song of creation makes my ramp spells draw me two cards then how ever many cards I got from the ramp spell. It’s crazy and I’m hype to play in person again in the future!

I'm currently building a Zubera tribal five colour aristocrats deck, mirror entity combined with a bunch of token producers along with some tribal enchantments to make everything a zubera. Havent quite got the final deck list sorted out but it's an interesting idea! XD

One of the worst locks I've seen with Stuffy Doll was built around hitting the Doll with Pariah's Shield with a Repercussion in play. It was busted. Add in a few flicker effects and you get an easy way to sort of shotgun everyone else down.

I am currently working on a commander deck with the companion (since it counts as 101 legally) Gyruda, Doom of Depths. I thought the "evens only" rule would be fun to play around. RIP Void Winnower being a 9 cost spell that would have been the perfect card to go into the deck.

This actually sounds like a really cool idea. It would probably work best as a Dimir, Grixis, or Esper artifacts + clones deck. Just beef up the deck with artifact creatures that really like being indestructible and things that you would want to clone

I don't know how I feel about Song of Creation. I don't really want to use it as a storm style card cuz I want to take advantage of that multiple land drops per turn ability for multiple turns. Maybe pair it with a commander or enchantment that can draw you a few extra cards, like Omnath Locus of the Roil and/or Kumena's Awakening.

I've been trying to make reality scramble work. Just swap creatures out that enter the battlefield with tokens and keep amassing a huge army. Lord windgrace is the commander to get back the lands going into the bin with reality scramble. Real fun!

Lich's Mastery It's funny, but next to no one mentions its INSANE function as a far superior phyrexian unlife. Once it is on the field, you cant lose the game. Manipulate your life total to almost zero, play mastery and finish off your life. Sit and watch as no one running mass enchantment removal or mill can do anything. Its not even that hard to set up. Just run it with a commander like Grevan and you will naturally reach the ideal life total.

Lol, I've won a few games where I cast a Necropotence with Bolas's Citadel, which effectively guaranteed that I would find my Aetherflux Reservoir. It's funny. :P I really wish I were more comfortable using Lich's Mastery, but it's scary knowing that I just die to an overloaded Cyclonic Rift.

mirror entity is a total hidden commander in atla, nest warden, suddenly all creatures in your deck are 0/0 eggs. (you want to buff nest warden beforehand and have some shuffle eldrazi + some etb damage creature)

So when talking about Axis of immortality you mentioned sanguine bond but I don't think those cards work together as axis says "switch two players life totals" so you aren't technically gaining the life

7:03 Myr Galvanizer, it DOES NOT untap itself. Without access to BLUE to have something like Mirror Image you ONLY get one use out of it. And if we are talking about a mono black deck using Bolas's Citadel and Captivating Vampire i don't know any means you can cause infiite mana nor to infinite untap without an opponent provdiing those functions. Seedborne Muse is the closest thing you can get to increase the "untapping" happening. However, your talking about having WHITE and Black and while there is a way to cause untapping in the function of 2/3 equipment and an aura requireing white there is no infinite mana available without access to BLUE or GREEN. There is ONLY ONE method of INFINITE MANA in MONO RED, and it requires Kranko, and Skirk Prospecter/Ashmonds/Phyrexian Alter and Kranko has to be able to TAP AND the combo WORKS BEST with Thornbite Staff. Too jank to have part of a "Vampire" deck, Where first you need your "graveyard", and then you need one of the 3 mana producing functions, then you need Kranko with haste, THEN finally you need at least 4 goblins in play just to start the combo. However, i do recognize if you have 7+ goblins in play the other 2/3 equipment "could" work as youd be gaining more mana than using to untap Kranko.
