Yes version 1.01.00 was not reading the controller properly, I lost a lot of money jumping on the update so fast. 20 minute jobs where taking up to four hours, basically it was not reading in changes to speed and power nor was preview working properly especially with any type of dither. I notified Lightburn and reverted back to 1.6. I will update to the new possibly this weekend. Still a great and user friendly software.

Possibly, that’s why they did patch. This was on a diode. Regardless what I set the speed to it only ran at 333mm. I wasn’t able to figure out at what power level it was running, it did burn up material so it was fairly high. Lightburn jumped on the issue quickly.

Another note, when I did manual moves (under move tab) the laser would fire automatically. Again at a high power setting. No, I was not framing, which is I believe a new feature, instead of shift+frame to have the laser fire during framing.

At 16:20 you mention test fire power is a minimum of 1% regardless of setting. In my setup at least, that's not the case (Lightburn 1.1.04 and Ortur LU2-4 SF laser). I can set as low as 0.1% and still see the laser. A value of 1% is noticeably brighter and burns paper/card almost immediately.

In V 1.1 the minimum power was 1% Michael. I haven't looked at the code on the newest version because I just set mine to .5% and that works fine for me. Older versions defaulted to 1%, newer may not.

Have you figured out a way for how to adjust a lightburn art image to compensate for the taper of a glass? I don’t have any of the image correction software, plus I’ve already created many military crests and I’d have to export, correct, import, clean up all the pixel errors, and then see if I need to do the process again. In my opinion this is an absolute MUST-have for the software, but hasn’t been implemented and doesn’t sound like it in the future. Overall I’ve been really happy with the software and it is hands down the most complete that I’ve seen so far, for what I need and the laser I have, I’m just disappointed that doing pint glasses and shot glasses looks like dogs**t.
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy2 жыл бұрын
That's what a rotary is for! I can't imagine why you would want to spend all that time with the image when you can just use it as-is with a rotary.
@OffGridOverLander2 жыл бұрын
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I think you misunderstood what I was asking. I do have the rotary for my D1, however if you try to "etch" a tapered glass such as a pint glass or shot glass, the bottom of the "etch" is skinner than the top. Correcting that "perspective skew" is what I was asking if you had figured a workaround way to deal with. For military crests, such as the 101st or the 82nd, it messes them up horribly and look like poop.
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy2 жыл бұрын
Ah, I see. When I have a taper, I usually make a jig to get it level. It's hard to get a nice engraving on a taper.
@OffGridOverLander2 жыл бұрын
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Darn, I was hoping that the GURU had it figured out lol, leveling the taper keeps it in focus for the entire length usually (as long as the glass isn't curved also) but unfortunately does nothing to deal with the taper that makes the bottom skinnier than it should be. Oh well, thanks for the chat, guess we'll have to wait until they deal with feature requests from 3 years ago (first one I saw requesting "perspective adjustment" was from Mar'19)
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy2 жыл бұрын
@@OffGridOverLander Yeah, I've never had that problem, so no solution on my end. But then I only choose items that work well on the rotary. I very rarely do tapered items except wedding glasses, and I've never had the issue. Sorry I can't help.

Greetings I have F-theta lens 1064nm F=210mm. What size lens is that
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy2 жыл бұрын
A focal distance of 210mm should be a 150x150 Rohan.

Odd...I made a file on one PC, and took it out to my laptop to burn....and it called out that the font wasn't installed and reverted. This is with 1.103 lol.

Hmm... I haven't actually tried it Cris, but I will.

Also (and sorry, I'm replying as I'm watching). I installed my L-Cheapo Mk7 onto my Neje gantry. I set the minimum power to 1%...and it still made burn marks. Dropped it to .5%, and still slight burns. It finally stopped once I set it to .25%.

Also strange! Since Lightburn is supposed to ignore anything under 1%, and while you can still set it that way, it should power the laser at 1%. I'm starting to think you're from some alternate reality! 🤪

@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Who knows lol? I'm just calling out my experience lol. The Mk-7 is a really powerful diode (they bill it as a real 12w output, I trust them). I'm still working out the kinks but my 40/10w Neje doesn't burn at the 1% power setting so I never changed it. Once I connected the Mk-7...it burned at idle. Didn't stop till .25%. Oddly enough, the Neje dot is way, way dimmer now as well. Maybe my Neje board is handling things weird.

Does Lightburn have NESTING?
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Жыл бұрын
It does, but it redirects you to a nesting website which I find useless.
@jamescullins2709 Жыл бұрын
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Thanks, I may try it. I have Vcarve Pro which has nesting, I may see if I can, nest and save it then cut with Lightburn. My ATEZR P20 Plus 120W will be here today, I'm excited!!
